After the many build-up award shows that have been happening since the start of the year, the 2010 Academy Awards have finally arrived.

Hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, they take place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night (7 March) - for us (CAT): the early hours of Monday (8 March).

The live broadcast will be on M-Net Movies 1 at 03h00 on Monday morning.

The delayed broadcast will be on M-Net on Monday night from 19h30 to 22h30.

Of course E! Entertainment will be doing a red carpet Build-Up, to a red carpet Countdown, to the Actual red carpet (ha - you know how it goes).

This is the schedule - as you'll see, the countdown lasts a whopping four hours:

Countdown to the Red Carpet
On: Sunday, 7 March 2010 at 21h00

A build-up show featuring behind-the-scenes footage of everything that goes on before the event, usually hosted by people we've never seen in our lives.

Live from the Red Carpet: The 2010 Academy Award
On: Monday, 8 March 2010 at 01h00

The real deal red carpet, hosted by Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest.

To wrap things up, the Fashion Police will do their usual thang in a special that looks at who was hott and not. This will be on next Thursday (11 March) at 21h00.

While the nominees and guests get ready again - they must be bored with all the hours of dressing up by now surely? - a recap of the nominees:

This years Oscars didnt really have very good movies to choose from.
I've watched all the movies nominated for best motion picture and half of them were not at all impressive.
