I don't know what it is about such storylines specifically but they really freak me out. I think it has to do with the concept of someone having a hidden agenda going on that's very different to the outward impression they're giving.
Like they've got a conversation going on with themselves that's very different to what they're actually saying and showing in the moment - which gives me the freak-out bigtime. My motto in conversation: be open, be direct,
don't be weird.
It's happening on
Rhythm City and it's happening on
Gossip Girl: both Gail and Serena are facing a psycho chick.
In RC there's Tessa (played by Lindi Victor) who's been trying to take over
Pam Andrews' Gail's life. She likes her a
lot but she likes her
too much and loathes her at the same time.
Over the past while she's been trying to be like Gail and has even gone so far as to try to jeopardise Gail's relationships by moving in on them and warping people's perceptions of her.
The same thing's happening on Gossip Girl with Serena and her new found cousin Charlie (played by Kaylee DeFer). There are two more episodes left of
Season 4 on Vuzu - the finale's on next Wednesday (22 June) - and things are about to explode between them.
I won't give too many details, except to say that all the Dan-lust that Charlie's had going on is about much more than simply liking him. The real killer moment happens in this week's episode (15th) so don't miss it.
It's not only these two shows that have dealt with the phenomenon, other shows and movies have too which means it really does exist.
The moral of them all seems to be: if you spot someone wearing the same outfit as you, ask yourself: "Is she a psycho?!
Arrrrrrrrrrrgh."
Has a similar situation ever happened to you?
