President Jacob Zuma's communications advisor Zizi Kodwa - who was arrested in early November for a drunk driving charge and who admitted to have been blackmailed by the same model (Joyce Mulamu) who wanted to extort money from Fikile Mbalula - got married on Saturday at Durban's Botanical Gardens.
Newly-weds: Zizima
The ceremony saw the who is who of the South African entertainment and political scene descending to the coastal province to witness his union to Zama Ngubane.
"He's my man": Zama won Zizi's heart from a myriad of women
The wedding was nothing short of drama as suspended National Police Commissioner Bheki Cele showed face, prompting the over than 500 guests to raise their eyebrows and turn around to look at the man who is accused of corruption regarding an R500m police lease deal.
Raising eyebrows: Suspended police commissioner attended the do with is wifeThe wedding aisle was studded with a peach carpet and embellished with cream rose petals. The decor was breath taking and the wedding was fit for a Presidential Prince, sorry, communications advisor we meant to say.
Political Royalty: Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa, President Jacob Zuma and Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet (White top)
Zizi, who will still appear in Hillbrow Magistrate Court in May 2012 for his drunk driving charges, on Saturday forgot about his woes with the law and concentrated on his beautiful wife Zama.
Vowing: Time for Z&Z to say I do
Before we forget, we would like to congratulate Zizi and we believe he knows marriage is sacred union. We also would like to warn the likes of Joyce Mulamu to stay away from the couple as they should focus on their family. The pair don't deserve any drama, well, at least for now that is.
Wa bona sana
Zizi (42) and Zama (26) are reported to have met in Johanesburg.
"I do" " I do" time
It wasn't a smooth sailing for Zizi and Zama on their road to the aisle though as a lady named Kehilwe Kgompiri (33) alleged to the Sunday papers in early January that she was pregnant with Zizi’s twins and that he had promised to wed her.
The groom's men: All grey baby
Kehilwe, who apparently works in the office of the Bloemfontein speaker, claimed Zizi was taking care of the pregnancy and alleged she was expecting Zizi's twins. These allegations, however, couldn't stop the love-struck Zama to marrying her prince.
The bride's maids
During the time of the allegations, this is what Zizi had to say: “At this stage I have made up my mind and I have met the right girl. I never promised to marry her. I have made my choice and it is not her," he said, adding: "I was involved with her before my fiancee Zama. I had told my fiancee about her and the pregnancy," he said back then in January speaking to Sunday Sun.
Zooming, arg no, Zizing, sorry, Zaming on the bride's maids
We hope Zizi now has his act together and will stay away from controversy especially when it comes to struggling to keeping pants zipped. Here is to wishing the newly-weds a happily ever after!
