Bebe Neuwirth is an American actress, singer and dancer best known for her role as Dr. Lilith Sternin, Dr. Frasier Crane's wife and ex-wife, on the television sitcom Cheers and its spin-off Frasier.
Neuwirth won two Emmy Awards in 1990 and 1991 for her role as Lilith on Cheers, in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Her additional television credits include guest-starring roles in Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, Wild Palms, Dash and Lily, Law & Order: Trial by Jury and Bored to Death.
In 2014 she began starring in the political drama series Madam Secretary as Nadine Tolliver, Elizabeth's Chief of Staff.
Her feature film credits include Green Card, Summer of Sam, Celebrity, Liberty Heights, Bugsy, Jumanji, The Faculty, Adopt a Sailor, The Paint Job and Fame.
She has won Tony Awards for her performances in Sweet Charity and Chicago, for which she also won a Drama Desk Award. Her additional Broadway credits include Damn Yankees, A Chorus Line, Little Me, Dancin', Addams Family and Fosse. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Here Lies Jenny and Writer's Block.
Neuwirth has done voice over work for many feature films and television shows, including All Dogs Go to Heaven 2, An Extremely Goofy Movie, Aladdin: The Series and various PBS children's shows.
She is originally from Princeton, New Jersey.
