Wendy Makkena is an American actress best known for her starring role as shy but talented singing nun Sister Mary Robert in the 1992 comedy film Sister Act, a role she reprised in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit the following year.
She is also known for her starring role as Daniella Devlin, the mother of Grace and Nate who has a past history with Constantine, in the medical crime drama television series The Mob Doctor, from 2012-2013.
Makkena was also seen in the feature film State of Play, as well as on the TV series NCIS, The Good Wife, Miami Medical, Judging Amy, The Job, and Numb3rs.
Makkena gained acclaim playing Sister Mary Rober opposite Whoopi Goldberg in the Sister Act movies, not to mention series regular roles on comedies Oliver Beene and Listen Up, opposite Jason Alexander.
Makkena lives in her hometown, New York City.
