Matt Long is an American actor best known for his starring role as Jack McCallister on the political drama television series Jack & Bobby, appearing in the role from 2004-2005.
His public profile further increased when he was cast as the younger Johnny Blaze in the 2007 Nicolas Cage film Ghost Rider.
He also had a starring role as Matt Korzak, the dependable and well-meaning assistant manager of Gold Star who carries the burdens of every working parent as he struggles to take care of his two kids and demanding longtime girlfriend, in the short-lived drama series Lucky 7.
Long made his screen acting debut in the 2001 film The Greatest Adventure Of My Life. In 2004 he had a small role in the film Winter Solstice, but his scenes were deleted from the final cut.
Thereafter followed two years in Jack & Bobby, which he followed up with a role in the 2006 pilot Secrets Of A Small Town. The network that ordered the pilot - ABC - did not pick up the show for its fall line-up in that year, despite it being rated as one of the highest testing dramas.
Also in 2006, Long appeared in the feature films Reflections and Deceit, and in 2007 acted in Ghost Rider. He then had a leading role in the movie comedy Sydney White, released in 2008.
Long attended Western Kentucky University, where he met his wife Loras Chaffins. They have been married since 23 April 2005.
After graduation, Long moved to New York City where he worked as an actor throughout various theatres.
While playing at the Williamstown Theater Fest in Massachusetts he was spotted by his current manager and soon after that he was set to star as alpha brother Jack McCallister in his television-debut in Jack & Bobby.
Long's role on Lucky 7 in 2013 marked a return to ABC, where he previously portrayed Dr. James Peterson on Private Practice, from 2012-13. His other television credits include The Newsroom, Love Bites, Mad Men and The Deep End, among others.
He now resides in Hollywood, California.
