Mike Richards is an American producer and television presenter best known as the host of the reality competition Beauty and the Geek for 4 seasons, from 2006-2008.
Richards began his career hosting a late-night comedy talk show called The Randumb Show at Pepperdine University. This weekly comedy show caught the attention of television legend Dick Clark.
Immediately after graduating from college, Richards hosted a Nickelodeon pilot called Twisted and went to work for The Tonight Show.
Climbing the late-night ranks, Mike wrote and appeared in multiple comedy bits on Later while performing stand up comedy in Los Angeles.
From Later, Richards went on to produce Friends or Lovers, The Too Late Show, Fi-Sci, The Ultimate Action, The Perfect Date, The Weakest Link and The Other Half.
During this time, Richards continued to pursue his on-camera career, hosting multiple pilots, including the late-night talk show Chatroom America and The Real Deal.
Richards’ more recent hosting duties include Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve and Beauty and the Geek 2, as well as being a correspondent for the American Music Awards.
While at Dick Clark Productions, Richards has produced multiple episodes of Bloopers, The Family Television Awards and TV Guide’s Greatest Moments of the Year.
Richards was born and raised in Los Angeles.
