Tom Berenger is an American actor best known for his roles in action films, including Platoon, Sniper and Training Day.
Berenger's career spans feature films, television and production. His film career took off when he appeared in the 1983 Oscar-nominated film The Big Chill, with Glenn Close and William Hurt.
He went on to receive a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for his role in the 1986 Oscar-winning film Platoon, with Willem Dafoe and Forest Whitaker.
Berenger has had several television appearances, including guest roles in Ally McBeal, Third Watch, Law And Order and was nominated for an Emmy for his cameo in Cheers.
Berenger's interest in producing led him to executive-produce The Occasion Hell in 1996 and the television series Peacemakers and Rough Riders, in which he also starred.
