ER is an American serial medical drama created by novelist Michael Crichton and set primarily in the emergency room of fictional County General Hospital in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.
The series originally premiered in the USA on NBC on 19 September, 1994.
ER originally premiered in South Africa on M-Net. It later aired on DStv's M-Net Series channel.

Season 10 Synopsis
This series, created by uber-author Michael Crichton, is set in the Emergency Room of a busy Chicago hospital. It follows the doctors and nurses through both their personal and professional lives and draws you in to their trials and tribulations.
An action-filled season that moved rapidly between the Chicago ER and Africa.
Dr Carter returns from Africa with a new take on medical practice but has to go back when he hears that Dr Kovac is missing. He is forced to reassess his relationship with Abby.
He then chooses to remain behind in Africa and work at the local clinics. While there he meets Makemba, a volunteer AIDS worker and quickly begins to fall in love.
The hospital suffers a tragedy when a paramedic helicopter crashes on the roof, killing a senior staff member.
Abby starts medical school and her nursing post is filled by a feisty nurse, Samantha Taggart. Sam brings with her a troubled past and an even more troublesome young son. She soon finds herself getting closer and closer to Dr Kovac, who shows a lot of interest in her son.
Dr Lewis finds herself reconciling with her ex-husband and then having to deal with a pregnancy.
Dr Weaver also becomes a mother with her partner, Sandy Lopez but also faces a devestating tragedy.
Dr Chen's family also suffers a tragedy and she has to take care of her disabled but arrogant father. Her relationship with Dr Pratt takes severe strain.
This season also sees a new British intern joining the staff, Dr Neela Rasgotra.
