Sorry guys the first article did not show
I have noticed lately that they are a heck of a lot of so called roadblocks and metro police who are on standby everywhere more specifically ones created for public transport taxis in particular, where a taxi can stop and people jump off. As a person who uses public transport half of the time I am encountered with this problem day in and day out so I wanted to express my concerns with it. As people might have heard that the Durban transport buses are on a strike some of us are forced to use taxis as an alternative mode of transportation.
Now the problem starts here, some persons work at the industrial parks on the freeway Nandi drive so they tend to ask to jump off at the bridge there or the petrol stations. Now when this happens as we all know the rules of the road u cannot stop on the freeway yellow line or something like that, but the drivers do so and end up getting tickets.
Recently there was a taxi strike which include the taxi that go from the workshop to south beach and surrounding areas, they were also complaining that they cannot do their jobs properly because of the metro police who keep on giving them tickets for taking on and jumping off passengers. Even when they are at designated areas
Now this morning there are metro police at every stop which are designated as places where passengers get of and the drivers then get tickets for stopping there, so what are these stops for if they get tickets for stopping there?
So guys as most of us don’t have cars and depend on public transport and so forth what is ur guys take on the fact that there are more roadblocks for taxis than they are for private cars whereby they could be searching for criminals etc. whilst doing so instead of inconveniencing innocent people in the early hours of the morning and the late afternoon because cha these are the times that I observe these happenings.
Just something that I noticed happening in our society as a whole.
