Episode1018
Gail is having second thoughts about getting rid of Tessa and David puts her straight. Puleng has a screaming match with Thula's lawyer about her own culpability in Matric's death.
David finds out that Miles has left home and immediately decides to pay him a visit to rub salt in his wounds. David also pays a visit to Lucilla to see whether she is still going to help him in his court case. She is not so sure now that Miles knows about Ivan.
Niki corners Fats and tries to find out about S'bu's relationship with Thembi. Puleng, dazed by her visit from the lawyer, cracks and dreams about her feelings of guilt. She believes Matric's death was all her fault.

S'bu inadvertently reveals to Niki that he is far from over Thembi. Later she quizzes him on the question and at last he admits that, while she may be dead, he still loves Thembi.
Lucilla organises dinner between herself, Ivan and Miles.
Puleng asks Thula to recount the events that led to Matric's death and later tells Suffocate about it, who still condemns Thula for Matric's death.
Gail tells Tessa David wouldn't let her have her job back, but softens and offers to help her find a new job. When S'bu comes to see Gail at 9-Nine, Tessa asks him for a job and says Gail can vouch for her.

S'bu suggests to Niki that they run away because Miles can't withdraw charges against her. Later, Miles comes to S'bu's flat and finds Niki there - she tells him what the real Niki was like, the girl who died in the bus accident.
At the Vilakazi's, Miles smashes a wine bottle over Ivan's head, before giving him a beating. Puleng finally confesses to Tshidi that she slept with Thula, she then goes to Thula to tell him that she forgives him and he must forgive himself.
Tessa makes Gail promise not to sabotage her chances of getting a job at Hustle.

David learns that Ivan is in a vegetated state in hospital and later tries to find out who is responsible. A disgruntled Suarez declares war on David when she learns that she won't be getting her hands on any of the boys.
In a desperate attempt to get Suffocate to forgive Thula, Puleng confesses about the sex. Livid, Suffocate vows to kill Thula, but Puleng tells him that she was the one who initiated it.
Miles spells out the conditions under which he is willing to forgive Lucilla, who is now scared of him. Tessa deliberately plants something negative about Gail in S'bu's mind.

Miles moves back into the house but tells Lucilla that he will not forgive her until she meets some demands he has. Ivan finally regains consciousness and immediately issues to his bodyguard.
Suffocate finally reacts to the news that Puleng slept with Thula and then follows Thula to David's flat where the fist fight ends with one of them wielding a knife.
Meanwhile, S'bu has convinced Niki to continue staying with him and make a go of their relationship. After what Tessa told him about Gail's attitude towards Niki, S'bu's a bit reserved towards Gail.

Miles learns that Ivan has regained consciousness and goes to talk to him. He strikes a deal with Ivan not to retaliate.
Eventually, Niki realises that S'bu is still so deeply attached to the memory of Thembi that she decides it's best to move out. Thula apologises to Suffocate for sleeping with Puleng.
Sporting a black eye, Thula lies to Puleng: Suffocate wasn't angry at all. Puleng sees through the lie and confronts Suffocate.
Tessa deliberately spreads lies to both S'bu and Gail and puts their friendship under severe strain.

S'bu tries to persuade Niki to stay, but she leaves, and Miles invites her back to the Vilakazi home. Ivan tells David the false version of what happened between him and Miles.
Fats agrees to share the backroom with Thula, and Kop tells Mamokete he's out of work again. Tessa drives a wedge between S'bu and Gail. Thula moves in with Fats, but Suffocate doesn't unbend.

Lucilla strikes a quid pro quo deal with Miles and accepts Niki. On the other hand, Victoria expresses reservations about Niki to a long-suffering Lucilla.
S'bu relates a different story to the boys about him and Niki, but confesses the truth to David.
David surprises S'bu with a selfless act of generosity.
A surprising visitor from S'bu's father's past arrives. A jobless Kop feels the financial pinch, but covers stoically.
Puleng's attempts to make nice with Suffocate fail, and an unimpressed Fats is caught between his warring friends.

S'bu tells Miles about his visit from Mrs Ngidi and Miles tells S'bu that Pastor Ngidi recently died in prison. Miles is still convinced he was innocent of Rachel's murder.
S'bu also discovers that Niki is staying with Miles and Lucilla. Lucilla's divorce from David is finalised. She brings up the subject of marriage with Miles and he says it's still too soon.
Thula goes to court and discovers that the prosecution has dropped all charges against him. He is free, but the moment is bittersweet.
Puleng visits Matric's grave and finally gets closure. Ronald gets slightly uneasy when he realises David is taking a sexual interest in Gail.

S'bu offers Thula his job back, but the latter worries that Suffocate will not let him back in his building. Lucilla learns that Miles will not be forgiving her any time soon.
S'bu and Niki recommit to a brother-sister relationship. Lucilla and Victoria let Niki know her exact position in the Vilakazi household.
In light of Pastor's Ngidi's demise, David decides it is time Gordon Crumb darkened his door.
Gail fails dismally to make things right with S'bu, after Tessa plays confidante and gives S'bu sound advice.
Kop gets a job offer via a greedy Jafta. When Miles avoids Mrs Ngidi, who pays him a surprise visit at Redemption, she vows that the truth shall be told.

Ronald is concerned about Gail and David getting closer, and speaks to S'bu about it.
Kop gets a new job with Jafta and promises Mamokete that Jafta will never drive the vehicle.
S'bu tries to get Suffocate to unbend towards Thula and runs into a brick wall.
Mrs Ngidi tells Miles that she has proof of who killed Rachel Phakathi, and Miles sees the opportunity to nail David once and for all.

After Mrs Ngidi fingers Gordon Crumb as the man that Pastor Ngidi saw at the scene of the accident that killed Rachel, and Miles recognises him as the man that drugged him at the MIAs after-party, Miles realises that David was indisputably involved in Rachel's death.
Lucilla and Miles are excited by what this means; that David may finally get his comeuppance. Then they are hit by the sobering reality of the truce, and realise that any attempt by them to go after David will mean a definite resumption of the hostilities between them. Is that what they want?
Meanwhile, David realising his vulnerability now that Crumb has been arrested for attempted murder and faces a long jail term, sends Ronald to Cape Town to warn Crumb that any attempt by him to give up confidential information about David, in exchange for leniency, will have terrible consequences for him and his family.
Jafta pitches up at the Khuses; he's had an accident with the bakkie, but promises to pay for the damage to the other car. The Khuses are surprised therefore when the owner of the car turns up at their house, expecting them to pay.
Tshidi finds out that her bursary is about to be revoked - her pregnancy contravened one of the conditions of her agreement with the faculty administration.

Miles decides to treat David to a dose of his own medicine. He shops him off to Suarez Baloyi for the murder of Rachel Phakathi. Lucilla is worried about what the repercussions of breaking the truce so entirely might be.
Suarez is intrigued and sorely tempted by the opportunity to put David away but she's too proud to give Miles an immediate response as to what her course of action will be.
Tshidi's last hopes of hanging on to her bursary are dashed when Allan confirms that she has no legal leg to stand on.
Ronald meets with Mrs Ngidi to find out exactly how much she knows about the night Rachel Phakathi died. What he learns, convinces him that there's trouble brewing for David.
Meanwhile, Kop's financial woes escalate. Jafta refuses to pay for the accident he caused with Kop's bakkie and the two men come to near blows.

Suarez Baloyi tells Miles that she's hard on David's case - and that their star witness is about to arrive in Johannesburg. David wonders how far they can trust Gordon Crumb not to talk.
Later he learns that Crumb is being transferred from the police cells in Wynberg, and wonders whether this signifies that he's been persuaded to turn state's witness. On impulse he arranges a meeting with Suarez Baloyi, in order to squeeze information from her. All she tells him is that he'd better prepare himself for a long stint in jail.
Miles starts telling Niki what sort of man David Genaro really is - then informs S'bu that if Mrs Ngidi's attempt to exonerate her late husband of complicity in Rachel's murder is successful, half of what he inherited from Thembi will have to go to Mrs Ngidi.
Tshidi tells her parents the bad news about her scholarship. Sthembiso Hlongwane puts more pressure on Kop to pay for the damage to his car. Rose tells Mamokete flatly that Jafta will not be helping to pay the bill.
In a meeting with a bureaucrat, Tshidi is told that if she's prepared to lie, the Foundation might be prepared to reconsider their decision to cut off her scholarship. S'bu accuses Gail of sabotaging his relationship with Niki.

Tshidi has to make a very difficult decision regarding her bursary. Telling a lie would get her out of her predicament. Mamokete and Kop both try to influence her decision.
Gail confronts Tessa and this time she doesn't bother with any civilities. Gail calls Tessa every bad name in the book and the girls end up fighting. Gail is accidentally knocked unconscious.
Kop realises that a loan from a mashonisa may be what the family needs to relieve their financial stress. Mamokete shoots the idea down.
David is nervous about the possibility of Gordon Crumb being interviewed by Suarez Baloyi. He orders Ronald to prevent this from happening at all costs.

David is very concerned about the fact that Gordon Crumb has been transferred to a prison close to Jo'burg. Ronald and David come up with a plan to get Ronald into the prison.
Meanwhile Miles is desperate to find out from Suarez, how her interrogation of Crumb is progressing. Suarez promises to keep him in the loop as soon as she has managed to get Crumb to turns State witness.
The Khuses are thrilled when Tshidi gets positive news from one of the institutions she's applied to for a bursary; all the institution needs is a copy of her most recent results.
Hope is dashed however, when Tshidi comes back from the university. They won't release her results until her fees account has been settled. She owes R 10,000.
Kop is in despair because he can't help her; desperate, he turns to a mashonisa for help.
Tessa panics when she thinks she's killed Gail. She locks her in an old unused recording booth down in the storeroom, and feigns ignorance when to David's irritation Gail doesn't turn up for work.

Suarez ratchets up the pressure on Crumb. David decides it's time to take out Crumb before he can crumble. Kop tells Fats about the loan.
Tessa is still keeping Gail in chains, and Ronald is getting concerned. Kop delivers the mashonisa money to the family, but lies to Mamokete about its provenance, and Fats has to save the day.

Episode 1035
David sends Ronald to kill Gordon Crumb in his prison cell. Miles waits on tenterhooks to hear what progress Suarez has made in persuading Crumb to turn state witness.
Crumb gives Suarez a list of demands. She has to seek higher authority before she can give him what he wants. Ronald, disguised as a prison janitor, infiltrates the prison, opens Crumb's cell door, and prepares to plunge a butcher's knife into his sleeping body.
Fats urges Kop to tell Mamokete the truth about the mashonisa. He comes clean with Mamokete, who is shocked speechless by the revelation.
Tessa discovers that Gail has escaped. She finds her back in the office, where Gail gives her an ultimatum.

Episode1036
Ronald attempts to murder Gordon in his cell.
Mamokete remains shocked by Kop's confession. Her anxieties are also exacerbated by Kop's decision to take a cross-border driving job.
Gordon is persuaded to make a sworn affidavit implicating David in the murder of Rachel Phakathi.
Frank pays Kop a visit at home and reminds him of their meeting. Mamokete is less than impressed to see the man they owe money to.
Suarez informs Miles about Crumb's affidavit. Sis Bee loans Mamokete R 5000 to sort out her financial problems, but when she tells Kop about this he walks out.
Suarez later calls Miles and bursts both his and Lucilla's bubble by informing them that the Head of the Local Prosecuting Authority would need evidence to arrest David.

Miles can't believe David could slip through cracks in the legal system. Ronald tells David that Gordon has been moved and is probably on witness protection. David realises that he couldn't be convicted on Gordon's testimony alone. Ronald asks if there is any other evidence and David denies it.
Later we discover David has something that links him to Rachel Phakathi's death.
Kop eventually agrees to take Mamokete's R 7000 and give it to the mashonisa, but he is dismayed to discover that at 45% interest this has only brought down his debts by R 2000. J
afta says Kop has got the long-distance driving job if he wants it, but Kop is undecided. Now that Tessa has left, Gail and S'bu clear the air. Gail confesses that she isn't over S'bu and that she was jealous of both Thembi and Niki.

Suarez and Stofberg execute a search warrant on David's workplace and home, enraging David, who needs to recruit Gail to create a diversion.

Suarez is working hard to put David behind bars. Meanwhile Ronald is worried that something on David's laptop is going to compromise them.
Mamokete and Tshidi have to deal with the implications of Kop's "disappearance". Suffocate is worried about Niki who does not share his reasons for concern.
S'bu tries to make a case for Thula to a still angry Suffocate.
