Judging by the RSS feeds from both Facebook and Twitter, one can conclude that Intersexions was a HUGE hit.

I had the priviledge of watching the final episode at the Exclusive viewing session at Maponya Mall. I even bumped into fellow blogger Blaqueboi but we couldn't chat much because we arrived on African time.

It wasn't a star studded affair though. There were a few cast members who attended the affair. It was rather intimate..

It was soon spoiled by Duma's Divo attitude (I can't bring myself to check his real name). He's a good actor but he clearly forgot he was not at a shooting. He was so cold to "non cast" that came near him. He even refused to take a photo and mentioned he only takes photos by professional photographers. Are you Prince William by any chance? Wooo baba with all due respect, you need to calm down with that attitude.

Moving right along...

The other cast members were such sweethearts chatting away and taking photos (by ordinary people)

Back to the last episode.

The Big Bad voice of HIV narrated the episode and gave us some chilling realities. The line that caught my attention was "I am alive with HIV possibilities" That was just hectic.

To some it up here is the interconnection on Intersexions.

-Dj Mo slept with Lindi, Mandisa, Boitumelo and the groupies -Boitumelo slept with Thami -Thami slept with Ruth (Chain ends)

-Tzozo slept with Thami and Tshepo -Tshepo didn't have sex with Daliso (Chain ends)

-Daliso slept with Mr Molete -Mr Molete slept with a schoolgirl and Sylvia -Sylvia doesn't sleep with Charlie (Chain ends)

-Charlie slept with her one night stand Amy -Amy slept with Jabu -Jabu sleeps with Sarah -Sarah sleep with Indian guy -Indian guy sleeps with Jake but they use protection (Chain ends)

-Jake sleeps with Mac and Ruth -Ruth slept with Des -Des slept with Viginia -Viginia doesn't sleep with Tawanda (Chain ends)

-Tawanda doesn't sleep with garage attendant (Chain ends)

But Mandisa is negative because Kabelo's viral load was very low.

I loved the "Virus Voice", it kept me lolling the whole time. I liked it when he was saying... "Oh meet Lindi, she is a very old friend, i have already met her" and " Damn, Vukani is using protection with Sylvia, oh well its cool coz i have already met Vukani" hahahahahahahaha

Damn I missed out. I only saw two episodes and the finale yesterday, bt I must say, bofefe bone bole bontsi man! Its like everyone's life revolved around sex! yes its educational mara you cant say sex was the only hobby these people had. Dj Mo was just being a Dj, thats what their good at. @ Ntoko ngwana mme its hectic, especially when you can never know what your patner gets up to when they walk out the door. I got a chill when 'aids' said I like married couple, most married couple do not use condoms, we trust each other so much. question is, is your husband/wife responsible enough to even use a condom ga ba raeletshega? I hope so, for your sake. Bt all in all Ive learnt that before you sleep with someone, condom or not, ask yourself how many people they have slept with and how many people did the people they slept with slept with, make sense? what would happen if the condom breaks, will sorry be enough? Last night one of my FB friends said that Intersexions e tlwalela banna gampe, he says the story seems to imply that its only men who are carriers, i dont know what intersexion show he watched because the show clearly showed even women who were wreckless....

PSS: The naration was good, but perhaps too deep with the english jargon and the figure of speeches that i felt the avergae person ko magaeng who needed to get the ironies, the jokes that "the virus" was making...may not have heard the message within all that.....#just-noting....

It was a nice episode even though I didnt expect a full hour recap. I thought somehow all the people infected and affacted were going to meet or something. So we can see the chain ya HIV. But I loved the episode anyway and the narration was good and funny too.

I couldn't wait for the moment I was waiting for to hear how Mandisa is negative. And they said she didnt get the virus because Kabelo's viral load was low. But I didnt really understand this coz mos Kabelo got HIV from Lindi 5 years ago.

So how come his viral load was low when he was not even taking ARVs as he was not aware that he is positive. Maybe ke its the way that I interpret this viral load thing coz mna I thought maybe this viral load gets to be low when someone just got infected with HIV then as time goes on it gets to be higher to a point were the person can infect other people.

But then again they mentioned something about the person's immune system and lifestyle dunno whether this has something to do with what you eat and how you keeping healthy. Which is also one of the things that might have made Kabelo's viral load low not to infect Mandisa when they decided not to use a condom when they were trying for a baby.

One of the key lessons in all this is to condomise.

In all Intersexion has been a very good HIV/AIDS educational drama. It was not obvious and boring like other educational dramas. Which made us stay tuned for more. Well done to cast and producers.

I wish they can repeat the final episode so I can watch it to hear the last part again.

@Pru.. I think he said he knew Vukani before Sylvia. But with Ntombi he just said he hated ooMuzi being all safe and waiting till marriage but he found a friend in ,tombi, all ambitious. Shem. I just like the fact that this docudrama touched so many pockets of society - from desperate oldish white women to the rural kind, the indian business men, school kids...everyone. And I like the fact that they didn't feed the stereotype that gay people spread the virus. I didn't watch the gay episode so I only saw it yesterday. And I see the indian guy and the gay guy did the real kissing - not some thumb sucking wrestling ya ka Senzo le Jason.

Carino it might be that, at the time kabelo infected lindi his viral load was high because of the lifestyle he was living. and now when he had unprotected sex his lifestyle and diet had changed which might have made his viral load to be low...

HIV is the one that noted in the end hore Kabelo infected Lindi, Lindi infected Mo....Rethink it pipol, thats what HiV said. We as the viewers thought Mo cane with the virus, but HIV noted b$ the Episode ended.

Nothing different than what yall have said. Lately ive become soo negative with SABC1 shows, most of them are really boring. But with intersexions I made sure I stop whateva I was doing. Great show. And Nam I DID hear the part where HIV said Kabelo infected Lindi.

I was not impressed. Akin's voice killed it for me, and I really thought they should heave left it at finale last week. That documentary was like a replay of all the episodes.

Nice I think the whole purpose was to connect the dots. See where it all started and the chains that were formed. Some people even forgot about some episodes, so the finale somehow was a reminder of what transpired throughout the show. I think it was a great idea and I really liked Akin's voice. Also informative, like the part about the low / high viral load, and the fact that in the first 6 weeks of infection, the risk is higher of you infecting other s. And a whole lot of other lessons regarding HIV / AIDS

Its been a great journey PruLuv and thank you girl for opening up this platforms for the bloggers. hopefully when season 2 ever airs, you will get a mini role in intersexions and be famous :-)

As always, the comments after the episode made it much more intersting. I am still trying to think who would have done the voice without putting me off. I will know when I hear it.

At the end they should have done a diagram with faces, depicting the arrows and dead ends, just like the scrutinise advert.

The viral load lesson was a good one, that drawing at the end made me notice something I didnt know.

Guys can some1 clarify this to me is it true that HIV/AIDS came from a man in the Republic of Congo in 1959 but the scientists don’t know how he got it from. But some they claim he got it from chimpanzee while he was hunting. Maybe he had a scar so that’s where he got the disease.

Ngoku besemncinci i used to believe these scientists bcoz i've seen people with HIV/AIDS & im sorry to say this bt they definitely luk like a chimpanzee when they are going to die.

I also remember in primary school I had an assignment & we didn’t have computers by then so my only source were elders and believe me no one knew even my teacher she never told us.

So since i know u guys.....can some1 please tell me where is HIV/AIDS coming from? PS dont tell me about Google.

akin's voice was horrible - i couldnt finish the whole thing. also because where i am we eat, sleep and read aids everyday.

here is something abt low viral Low or Undetectable Viral Low: Lower Chance of Transmission? Question I have met a guy who just told me that he has HIV positive after the night we messed around, and he said that he has a low viral load and I shouldn't be concerned about getting infected. I gave him oral and there was precum. He also gave anal but it didn't really go all the way. Now I am worried that I may have been exposed now after that night. Is it true that I have a very low chance of getting it since he had a low viral load count? Answer I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. Yours is a difficult question to answer, because no study has examined this question directly (there is a large, multi-country study of this subject underway, but we won't know the results for a long time -- several years at least). Nevertheless, many people have started assuming that a low viral load means a low risk of transmitting HIV. This is a tricky assumption. Here are some possible answers to your situation, none of them a sure thing: 1. If he is not taking antiretroviral therapy and his viral load (the amount of HIV measured in his blood) is still very low (less than 1,500 copies per mL of blood), then it appears that his likelihood of infecting you is low. This is based on a study of Ugandan couples, none of whom were taking antiretroviral therapy, in which one partner was HIV positive and the other was HIV negative. When the HIV positive partner's viral load was lower than 1,500 copies/mL, transmission to the HIV negative partner was not observed. 2. If his viral load is low because he is taking antiretroviral therapy, then it's difficult to know his risk of infecting you. While most studies show that antiretroviral therapy suppresses viral load in both the blood and in semen, some other studies show that people can still have a detectable (and even high) viral load in their semen or vaginal secretions despite having an undetectable viral load in their blood. 3. Also, just because his viral load was low last time it was checked, doesn't necessarily mean it was low when you had sex with him; other infections, especially sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, can temporarily raise someone's viral load. So it's hard to say what your risk from this encounter was. If it's been within 72 hours since you had sex with him, I would strongly encourage you to seek PEP (postexposure prophylaxis, or one month of combination antiretroviral therapy) as soon as possible. In any case, getting tested now, in one month, and in three months is a good idea, as is wearing a condom during sex.
