2016 Men and Women's winners David Gatebe and Charne Bosman.
It's that time of year when people who have the biggest lung capacities in the world come out to motor, run, collapse and gulp their way through the Comrades Marathon.
It's happening this Sunday (4 June) and it's an "up run" this year so the torture-fest starts in Durban and heads up to Pietermaritzburg.
The start line is at the City Hall and the finish is at Scottsville Racecourse - it's the third time in the history of the race that the finish line will be at the racecourse.
The race will air live on SABC2 from 05h30, with companionship by various personalities.
Andile Ncube will be at the starting line, along with fitness fanatic Phindi Gule, who's so fit she'll be reporting from the finish line too, along with sportscaster Udo Carelse.
Vaylen Kirtley will anchor the studio coverage from Auckland Park and the commentators joining her include long distance runner Hendrick Ramaala, sports commentator Brian Mofokeng and 2015's Women's race winner Caroline Wöstmann, who isn't competing this year because of a hamstring injury from the Two Oceans earlier this year.
The total number of kilometres the racers' feet have to cover this year: only 86.73.
Flash facts:
David Gatebe won last year's marathon by breaking the "down run" race record. He ran it in 5 hours, 18 minutes and 19 seconds.
The "up run" record is 5 hours 24 minutes and 49 seconds, set by Russia's Leonid Shvetsov in 2008.
Charne Bosman won last year's Women's race in 6 hours 25 minutes and 55 seconds and will be back this year.
Her biggest competitor has been Caroline Wöstmann so Charne should have it in the bag now that Caroline's turned into a TV presenter... unless a new upstart makes a splash.
Bruce Fordyce still holds the record for number of marathon wins: 9.
