I enjoyed every second of the last two episodes, especially tonight's episode... It served drama, suspense, shock and laughter... Well done to all the actors, they continue to slay me! Especially Moopi (Smanga), he's just murdering everyone right now. His scene with Nandi was so well done. Ugh, I love him so much. Favourite character!!

Thuli Phongolo's reason for leaving Generations is the script of the show lol .Gaaratwe the publicist says she wont die but she will be written off.her scenes will end in a couple of month .in other news i saw her saying the River is a breath of fresh air .which means she is fishing for a job that side .lol actors love drama

31 Jan 2018 07:27

Well my source who is a junior writer for the show says the writers have been trying to write her out for a long time but couldn't as she was Mfundi's fave. Also apparently they HATED her acting and that's why her storylines have been so few in recent times. My source says the writers are basically glad to be rid of her. LOL now I don't see her getting a job at Mnet unless it's Lokshin Bioscope.

deziclesthagawd
31 Jan 2018 07:30

So our suspicions were correct, it's the Mfundi connection that kept her afloat for so long. I wonder what made him finally give in.

max85

Lol @dezi i get the feeling her scenes will just disappear .cz it seems most people there hated her. Especially the writers

Interesting month. Seems Pam is some sort of a ratchet and a nutcase. She'll probably hop into one of the Moroka beds. Are they trying to break up G and Sphe again? Happy Wandi is back and Scarlet. Back to the advertising world!!

I'm hoping that Tshidi and Jack will get back together. Nandi can stay where she is or just disappear.

When last have we seen Cosmo and Lucy active in the underworld? I want action! Some kickass and little bit of bitch slapping going on. I know they are cleaning cash with Skhaftin but who are they connected to and what is being cooked on the shelves? Cosmo's supposed to be a goon not some fruitcake family-man only. Come to think of it, it was a bad idea to refuse Jack's offer for him to be his right-hand man. Being loyal to Gadaffi is just not bringing the best out of him. He's not grimey and hard as he's supposed to be, at least for me.

Zondwa
31 Jan 2018 09:52

Ew no, I don't want Tsidi with Jack again! As for Thuli, whatever reasons she's leaving for... I'm just glad she's gone!

Yep, the Phillips fam is starting to make sense. I feel for Zoe and Brandon. Makes me sad watching them struggle. Great acting all round. I wish the show could be of this caliber all the time.

It just keeps getting better guys!! Too much power struggles... Tau, Bafana, Mazwi, Jack, Smanga... It's lit! Lmfao Bafana and Smanga are causing so much chaos within their families... People can't handle it haha.

Tau never gets good with the women in his life. They just keep back-stabbing him. Zitha should be dealt with.

03 Feb 2018 20:32

The writers always find a way to irritate me. Just a few weeks back Zitha "realized" that her career means nothing to her without Tau's love. Now she's right back to betraying Tau for said career? I don't get this character. Tau open your eyes tuu.

max85
04 Feb 2018 13:09

Tau can do better than this witch Zitha .i thought she had changed her ways. What does Jack have on her ,to betray Tau like this .

Good to see Minister Mdana again. Lol we never got reports back of whether she dropped the fake investigation she launched onto Tip Of The Spear. Smart politician regardless, I wonder if Jack can succumb to her demands, but I don't think so.

I NEED Kumkani back on my screen, being the badass that he is. He's so underused now and i'm sure we all know that Kumkani's storylines cause a lot more interest in the show. He's a very well written character. His character took a knock ever since they made boring Tau his best buddy, and now the focus has since turned into Jack vs Tau which is a snoozefest. Kumkani vs Jack is waayyyy more interesting and brutal!

I think viewers can be easily annoyed by characters while not realising why they behave a certain way, most notably Smanga and Bafana.
Smanga is very easy to understand, I don't get all the fake hate he's getting. He is obviously still grieving for Thabi and his grand fathers death opened old wounds. What's most frustrating for Smanga is that, just like Thabi, his grandfather's death is rather ambiguous. He feels that it was just so sudden and unexpected at that time. Smanga probably feels like he failed Thabi by not discovering who her real killers were, he simply does not want to fail Molefe as well. That's why he's on the hunt, because he probably feels like finding the root cause of Molefe's suspicious death will also bring closure in dealing with Thabi's death and failing to find her murderers.

As for Bafana, he's obviously still angry at Jack over that AK saga, but that's not all. He is most angry at the man that he has become, he's angry at the fact that Jack's behaviour and actions are rubbing off on him. Fana is rather an honorable man and has never really idolised his father and his criminal activities. When Jack has his war with AK and he has to hide, all matters rest on Fana's hands. All the drug smuggling and illegal stuff that Jack had been doing had fallen into Bafana's care, which was something he did not want. When this occured, Fana had to change to a man that he was not. He had to indimidate people to ensure that he was feared, he had to lie to his own family and mostly, he had to kill someone, voluntarily. He was really changing, and he did not like what he had to do, but had to do it anyways. He probably sees this as a form of betrayal, he has betrayed his own true self and adopted his fathers ways of doing things.

At one moment, Fana sort of believed in the land development project, but his anger at his father still overshadowed his own true beliefs; he's trying to fight this dilema but Jack already lives inside him. He's hardly fighting for the goodness of the people and their wellbeing, but is more so fighting Jack. He will try to do anything that opposes him, no matter how it affects other people, as evidenced by his new found partnership with Tau, a man who solely wants to take Jack down and hardly anything else.
I believe he needs something... like a shrink to talk to and finally let go of his anger and slowly become the man he once was.

Zondwa
11 Feb 2018 02:31

Whew Fridays episode proved exactly what I said about Bafana. He supports the  land development project, but is only focused on opposing Jack. This is not reflective of his true character because ideally, Fana is selfless and cares about other people... But now he is trying by all means to deny these people a better standard of living by teaming up with the enemy (Tau) and coming up with good reasons as to why these people should reject the development programme.

He is doing EXACTLY what he ussually accuses Jack of doing, which is pretending to act on the interests of the people but really just trying to further your own agenda. Jack really lives in Bafana now and I don't think there's anything he can do about it!

deziclesthagawd
11 Feb 2018 08:17

Great assessments @Zondwa. I miss Gadaffi so much. I hope he doesn't end up leaving Gen seeing as he is so underused. Lordt the show would NEVER recover, even with Vusi Kunene being so brilliant. I still have goosebumps from his Thursday night scene with Mr Miles.

Zondwa
11 Feb 2018 14:16

Thanks @Dezicles, I agree Jack is great as well but he rather plays it safe compared to Kumkani who is more brutal. They tried to give Jack some action packed sequences, like the gun-shooting with AK's men and that Thabiso home invasion scene, but these were quite underwhelming. Lol even Karishma being thrown out the window was more entertaining than most of Jack's action scenes.

Can this thing that Jack does ALL THE TIME just stop please! I can't take it anymore. Whenever he's in a difficult position, he always wants people to find dirt on someone then threatens or forces people to do whatever he wants based on the so called "dirt" that he 'digs'. It's become SO PREDICTABLE now yoohh. Can the writers come up with something else!!???

@Zondwa Jack is a one trick pony. It's crazy how lame the current writers are interpreting his character. Back in the day Jack used to be so dynamic and multi-layered. Now he's just so one note. Lol maybe Kumkani stole his essence.

Zondwa
13 Feb 2018 10:59

Yho it's tiring now really. What's funny is that everyone on social media says he is the best written character on the show which just goes to show that the general public likes basic stuff as long as it looks flashy and fake badassery. This character would be terrible if Vusi Kunene wasn't such a great actor. It's so stagnant, there's no character development whatsoever. It's like he's a villain for the sake of being one. I don't know man... it feels so fake and unrealistic. Every other male character on the show is well written than Jack, hell even Brian... lol

max85
13 Feb 2018 12:25

Lol Zondwa you have love for Jack bathong .i was so proud of the Doctor for standing up to Jack .he has ethics that man .lol what will Mazwi do to Kumkani when he finds he is sleeping with Sphe .i am sure Gadaffi will just laugh in his face

Zondwa
13 Feb 2018 16:13

Lol I actually like Jack @max85, what bores me is the lame and uninspired writing the show has been doing to this character.

Lmao there's nothing that Mazwi can do... I alao can't wait for him to find out haha!!

Yeah Dr Moagi did well by putting Jack in his place :)

This Zach storyline feels like it just came out of nowhere... There's been no buildup at all. It's just a way of creating lame "drama". But i'm starting to enjoy it since Kumkani has been brought to the fold.

deziclesthagawd
13 Feb 2018 17:59

I think the Zach storyline seems random but it's actually the first phase of Namhla's exit storyline. It's about to set off a domino effect that will end in her exit. Kumkani has just been brought along for the ride and I ain't complaining. On another note I agree, Twitter is really buying Jack's mafia shtick hook, line and sinker! It's hilarious!

Zondwa
13 Feb 2018 21:46

Oh yeah makes sense @Dezi that this is Namhla's way of bowing out. Yhor I can't wait for that day lmao

I love Jack Mabaso. I always have and I always will. But he's dominating the game too much. He's got Smanga and Mazwi under his thumb. Tau's always blind sided by his all-time nemesis, even though they both come a long way. Bafana is fighting a losing battle with the land development scheme. Zitha is helping Jack. These are the times whereby I wish Jack's other opponents were still alive to make him sweat and have sleepless nights. The likes of Ann, Sibusiso and Mashaba. Recast them if you have to ntate Mfundi or order Collin to change the script. Even Stefano Di Mera used to get a tough time sometimes.

Show-Time
14 Feb 2018 10:16

The only way for Tau to get one over Jack, is to see Zitha for what she really is as soon as possible before Jack throws her under the bus. I think Mike and Tau need to meet and discuss Jack, but that bitch, Zitha must not know about it.

deziclesthagawd
14 Feb 2018 12:26

One of my cousins stopped watching Gen simply because Jack stays winning. She says this type of writing is tired and outdated. She thinks soapies should move past this thing where the ENTIRE show revolves around this one villain who is God-like. I agree, we've seen this movie before with Sibusiso. But she too dramatic for stopping to watch altogether lol.

max85
14 Feb 2018 19:13

Twitter is loving Jack but i am not sold .he cant always win everything .

Show-Time
15 Feb 2018 09:57

Ohh Zack! Was it worth it to die for Namhla?

deziclesthagawd
15 Feb 2018 10:22

Why is everyone saying he died for Namhla? Surely he died for Gadaffi because he was working for him just like Namhla. Kumkani took all that money. He could've sold Kumkani out without compromising her.

deziclesthagawd
18 Feb 2018 13:35

Mfundi Vundla has confirmed to Drum mag that he has taken the decision to write off the characters of Namhla and Getty. He says they no longer fit into the storyline. He also says that there are actors in the industry that he has his eye on and he wants to create characters for. I wonder who...?

Zondwa
18 Feb 2018 15:30

Wow, Getty as well??? Generations families are shrinking in size. In the beginning, the Moroka's had Karabo, Tau, Angela, Jonathan, Simphiwe, Mazwi, Tebogo... even Mary??! Now they feel so empty, no mother figure... except Sphe weehh. Generations shouldn't have made Kumkani and Tsidi separate, that was just dumb. They should've had children of their own instead.

We have:
1. Moroka's. They are the focal point of the storyline but are constantly upstaged by the Mabaso's. They should have introduced a mother figure like Lilian Dube's character (forgot who she was), instead of great uncle 3.0! They should stop throwing Smanga's character arc to the side in favor of the less interesting, Mazwi. It feels like the character of Smanga was just made to make Mazwi look better, they constantly put him in his shadows. Kanti when is Smanga's time to shine!!??? He's old enough to have his own family now. I hope they find him a love interest (who they won't kill in a couple of months like Thabi or Simphiwe) and have his own family.

2. Mabaso's. I love them. They're great. It seems like they've been getting better material than the Moroka's for over a year now. And they are all very good actors. (except Namhla).

3. Mogale's. They've botched this family before it even begun with the whole Zitha- backstabbing mess. They should be expanded as well.

4. Phakade. They did them so wrong argh! I want Tsidi to go back to Kumkani and they should adopt Mpho to be their legal son.

5. Phillips. I like them so far. I hope they introduce Brandon's father.

6. Diale's. They have been stagnant for so long lmao. Lesedi is like... the only interesting part of this family. Maybe they'll get more focus when Getty and Namhla exit. Wow can you believe that their last interesting plot was the kidnapping of Lesedi and Xolelwa lmao.

I'm still salty about what they did to the Radebe's :'(

@Dezicles, for years I have always wanted Mothusi Magano to be on Generations. He is one of the best actors of our generation, i'm telling you!

I would also love to see Mbulelo Grootboom on this show as well.

max85
18 Feb 2018 18:36

The Diale family is becoming stale .Cosmo and Lucy have nothing to do now. I dont how long Mfundi will keep them around .maybe they should create a lobg interest for Cosmo .

deziclesthagawd
18 Feb 2018 20:58

I've also always wanted Mothusi to be on the show! What a talent. @Max we'll see with the Diales, I hope Manaka doesn't end up getting poached by another show. Maybe Gen has too many characters? The Mabasos basically run the show and the rest of the other characters only get what's left of the screen time. Lol my mom is gonna be so sad that her "Getz" is leaving. Lordt I'll break it to her tomorrow.

max85
19 Feb 2018 08:24

21 Feb 2018 00:19

This episode had the potential to be a highlight for the show but it was so so bad omg. They botched it lol... The acting was extremely mediocre except for Sphe, Fana and Jack. I've always said that the show seems to have great ideas on paper, but when they come on screen issa mess. They need better writers and directors. Generations always looks like a poor show. It's the biggest show in the country but it looks like their budget is for a Lokshin Bioscope film ncncnc!!

Last night's episode was embarrassing! Namhla started off the horror with her cringe inducing scene with Mr X, Lordt!! We then heard about the alleged drama outside moving the residents but didn't get to see it, a missed opportunity. Than there's the general bad acting and awkward execution of scenes and the cherry on top at the end. LOL why was that little girl singing Senzeni na? It was cringy and borderline comedic. A whole joke! I'm embarrassed

max85
21 Feb 2018 08:18

Lmao ..it was really bad ..i was sitting there thinking what does this little girl know about senzeni na...Namhla was awful .i really do not see a future in acting for that girl . Like Showtime likes to say we really need a new headwriter for Generations .

Show-Time
21 Feb 2018 09:22

You were not as embarrassed as I was. In fact, I am still embarrassed. Yesterday's episode must have been handled by amateurs all round. Twitter detractors probably had a field day after it. Maybe I should also take a break from watching until Collin Oliphant is demoted or fired. GTL desparately needs a change before ratings tank.

Better episode tonight. Hopefully Sphe will somehow mention to Jack that she saw Dmitri with Gadaffi. The connection between the Russians and Gadaffi should ring alarm bells to Jack and make himself ask questions.

Zondwa
22 Feb 2018 05:41

This episode was low-key but so much better than yesterdays mess! Sphe will finally witness for herself what kind of criminal Gadaffi is. So, is Zitha finally on Tau's side? The Bafana vs Jack thing is tired now...

deziclesthagawd
22 Feb 2018 08:15

Sphe would never mention Dmitri to Jack. She has no reason to. At this point she is more loyal to Gadaffi than she is to Jack. I am however looking forward to seeing how she's going to deal with dating this gangster. Lol she's no Tshidi, but I guess if Nandi can do it...
