Bio

Donnie Wahlberg is an American actor and musician, best known as one of the members of the boy band New Kids on the Block.

After the group disbanded in 1994, he turned to acting, making his big screen debut in 1996's Bullet, starring Mickey Rourke and Tupac Shakur.

He has since been seen in such blockbuster films as Ron Howard's suspense drama Ransom, the Academy Award-nominated thriller The Sixth Sense, and as the main detective, Eric Matthews, in horror sequels Saw II and Saw III.

On television, Wahlberg gained notice for his role as 2nd Lieutenant C. Carwood Lipton in the HBO Emmy Award-winning World War II-set mini-series Band of Brothers, for which Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg served as executive producers.

From 2002-03, Wahlberg portrayed Detective Joel Stevens in the innovative, highly-praised crime drama Boomtown. After that he was seen in the high-profile mini-series The Path to 9/11 with Harvey Keitel, and the A&E telefilm Kings of South Beach, from Goodfellas screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi.

He played the lead role in the television drama Runaway as the patriarch Paul Rader - husband and father of a family of five and a successful attorney. He was wrongly accused of the murder of Erin Baxter, a beautiful young associate in his law firm.

Wahlberg has also been a series regular on Big Apple with Ed O'Neill, and starred in other telefilms including The Taking of Pelham One-Two-Three and Purgatory.

Additionally on the big screen, Wahlberg has been featured in the star-studded musical comedy Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School; Annapolis, with James Franco; Lawrence Kasdan's Dreamcatcher, based on the Stephen King novel; Triggermen; Body Count; Diamond Men; Black Circle Boys; and Butter.
