Bio

Kenneth Choi is an American actor best known for his role as Sato in the 2008 television mini-series Samurai Girl, based on the novel series by Carrie Asai.

He also stars as calm and pragmatic Captain Ed Rollins, who handles situations with a level head and cool demeanour, in the police procedural television series Ironside.

Choi can also be seen in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street, starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew McConaughey.

A huge fan of films as a child growing up in Chicago, Choi always wanted to be an actor. Against his family's wishes, he left college to pursue the craft.

Once in Los Angeles, Choi hit the ground running and was cast in an independent film during his first week. He finished the year with appearances in six television series, including The West Wing and Roswell.

Over the next few years, Choi quickly gained recognition with memorable guest turns on hit sitcoms The King of Queens, Reba and According to Jim. Additionally, he had recurring roles in successful dramas, including House, Glee, Sons of Anarchy, Last Man Standing, Hawthorne, 24 and Crash.

A childhood dream was fulfilled when Choi was cast in Steven Spielberg's The Terminal, alongside Tom Hanks, Stanley Tucci and Zoe Saldana. This sparked a surge in Choi's career as he completed almost a dozen films through 2008, including roles in acclaimed writer/director David Ayer's Street Kings and Harsh Times, as well as high-profile roles in Lionsgate's War opposite Jason Statham and The Heart Specialist opposite Zoe Saldana and Wood Harris.

Choi also appeared in MGM's Red Dawn and Marvel/Paramount's Captain America: The First Avenger.

He resides in Los Angeles.
