Synopsis

Somewhere in St. Dunstan's University sits The Arnolfini Research Laboratory - a lab for hire, meant for flashy projects which will bring the college kudos and money.

Unfortunately for the university, the Arnolfini is staffed by what are known in scientific circles as 'idiots'.

It's a big, daft, cartoony sitcom, filmed before a studio audience.

Although the show is set in a laboratory and everything, it's less about science and more about using its setting as an excuse for stupid jokes, endearingly chaotic characters and fast-paced, farcical plots.

One week might find the lab rats unexpectedly creating giant, corridor-filling snails, the next week wondering how they've offended Joan Armatrading.

The whole thing is written by Chris Addison and Carl Cooper who were Sony Gold award winners for Best Radio Comedy series 2006, with BBC Radio 4's The Ape That Got Lucky.

The regular Lab Rats cast includes: Chris Addison, Geoff McGivern, Jo Enright, Dan Tetsell, Selina Cadell and Helen Moon.

Lab Rats is produced by Simon Nicholls and executive produced by Ali Carron and Armando Iannucci.
