Afrikaans movie Barakat selected as South Africa's official entry to the 2021 Academy Awards. Written and produced by Amy Jephta and Ephraim Gordon, it tells the story of a Muslim family who have to come to terms with their father's death. Four sons and his widow. Stars: Vinette Ebrahim, Joey Rasdien, Mortimer Williams, Keeno-Lee Hector, Danny Ross, Bonnie Mbuli, Quanita Adams and June van Merch.
