The only thing I remember about these awards is that I could never work out the point of them. The parametres of the TV category nominees were random - some nominees from SABC shows, others from DStv channels, but not all channels. Even though the awards embraced other broadcasters, nominees still seemed weighted towards DStv and yet were they? It was conceptually confusing and unclear. It's made more confusing by the fact that it sounds like it's the Mzansi Magic awards, especially because it airs on Mzansi Magic, but it isn't actually the Mzansi Magic awards.
