Thabang Nkonyeni was a South African actress best known for her role as Matlakala, the abused wife of Thabang (played by Patrick Shai), in the SABC1 drama series Soul City, in 1999.
She was stabbed to death in her house in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth on Tuesday 11 August, 2009. Her death was described as "a domestic violence type murder".
She was the daughter of actress Nomhle Nkonyeni.
