Bio
Paul Sorvino is an Italian-American actor best known for his role as Det. Sgt. Philip "Phil" Cerreta in the television drama series Law & Order.
He took over the role from George Dzundza, and played it for two seasons from 1991-1992.
He also had leading roles in the television series Bert D'Angelo/Superstar, playing the title role; and in That's Life, playing the role of Frank DeLucca in all 16 episodes that were made (2001-2002).
He played the role of Al Miller in four episodes of the sitcom Still Standing as well.
Other television shows he has appeared in include The Streets of San Francisco, Insight, Moonlighting; Murder, She Wrote; Star Trek: The Next Generation; and Jack & Bobby. He also hosted 25 episodes of the series Behind Bars in 1994.
Sorvino has an extensive film resume, appearing in movies such as Where's Poppa? (his screen debut in 1970), A Touch of Class (1973), Cruising (1980), Dick Tracy (1990), Goodfellas (1990), Nixon (1995), Romeo + Juliet (1996), Money Talks (1997), Bulworth (1998), Knock Off (1998), See Spot Run (2001), Mr. 3000 (2004), and Mr. Fix It (2006).
He is the father of actress Mira Sorvino.
