Theo James is an English actor best known for his starring role as Walter William Clark Jr., a newly-promoted homicide detective who will become the youngest police commissioner in the history of the department, in the police procedural television series Golden Boy.
He is also known for his television roles as Kemal Pamuk in Downton Abbey (2010) and as Jed Harper in Bedlam, in 2011.
Born in Oxford, England, James trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
He appeared opposite Kate Beckinsale in the movie franchise Underworld. Prior to that, James starred as the lead villain in the British comedy The InBetweeners Movie, and worked with Woody Allen in the film You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.
James starred in the first season of the highly-lauded BBC series Downton Abbey and was listed in the prestigious Screen International issue Stars of Tomorrow in 2009.
