Bio
Jared Padalecki is an American actor best known for his television roles as Dean Forester in Gilmore Girls (2000-2005) and as Sam Winchester in Supernatural (since 2005).
Jared started to take acting lessons when he was 12. He won the Claim to Fame Contest in 1999 and got a Teen Choice nomination for his breakout performance in the 2005 horror film House of Wax.
After graduating in the year 2000 he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career.
On the big screen, Padalecki was most recently seen in the thriller Cry Wolf, where he played a precocious boarding school student drawn into an elaborate hoax involving a serial killer.
He also co-starred in the Warner Bros. feature film House of Wax, opposite Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton. Other film credits include Flight of the Phoenix, opposite Dennis Quaid and Giovanni Ribisi; and New York Minute, with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Additionally, Padalecki appeared in the hit film Cheaper By The Dozen, in a role for which director Shawn Levy specifically requested him. He can also be seen starring opposite Kathy Baker and Hallie Kate Eisenberg in the independent baseball movie Little Inside.
In 2008 he played the title role in the direct-to-video release Thomas Kinkade's Home for Christmas.
Padalecki currently resides in Los Angeles with his two dogs.
