Jeffrey Wright is an award-winning American actor known for his character roles primarily in film and on stage.
Wright was honoured with an AFI Award for best actor for his portrayal of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Boycott.
His films include Ali, Shaft, Ride with the Devil, Cement, Critical Care, The Manchurian Candidate, Syriana, Casino Royale and Basquiat, which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his debut performance in the title role.
He won the 1994 Tony Award for Featured Actor for his portrayal of Belize in Angels in America: Perestroika.
Wright also enjoyed a critically acclaimed run on Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize-winning show TopdogUnderdog, for which he received a Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor.
