Bio
Eloise Cupido is a South African actress, singer, presenter, voice artist and dancer best known as the presenter of the SABC2 interactive Afrikaans music show Belboks, from 2002-2003.
She also stars in the SABC2 variety comedy show Colour TV, in 2011.
Career
Born in Cape Town and raised in the small Western Cape town of Montagu, Cupido received a BA degree in Drama from the University of Pretoria.
Her first television role was as Bernadine in the SABC2 (and later kykNET) sitcom Vetkoekpaleis, in 1999.
Since then she has had a steady stream of employment in television. She appeared in the Afrikaans thriller series Die Vierde Kabinet on SABC2, played the role of Gillian in Arsenaal and the role of Lillian in the SABC1 soapie Generations.
She played the role of pregnant action girl Faith in the four-part SABC3 mini-series It Rained Last Night, and hosted the SABC3 self-improvement show (with Justin Cohen) Invent Yourself, which ran for 24 episodes. Both programmes premiered on the same night - 23 October, 2001.
Cupido presented the interactive Afrikaans music show Belboks on SABC2 from 2002-2003, and hosted the 2003 Geraas Music Awards. She also presented the shows Lyfkuns, Athletics Alive and Kwêla on kykNET.
From 2006-2007 she played the recurring role of Dr. Ayesha Sayeed in the joint South African/Canadian drama series Jozi-H, which aired on SABC3.
She also acted in the made-for-TV movies Shark Attack (1999) and König Otto (2006).
Eloise has appeared in a number of feature films, including The Long Run, Africa (1999), Hijack Stories (2000) and Doomsday (2008).
She has also acted in numerous theatre productions, including Aspoestertjie (Conderella), Boogie Nights and Antjie Somers.
She was one of the "Artcha Angels" (with Anel Alexander and Masello Motana) who presented the first two seasons of the SABC2 arts and culture magazine show Artcha, from April 2008 to April 2009.
The trio were replaced from the third season on by sole presenter Mmabatho Montsho.
