Pierre van Pletzen is a South African actor and director best known for his starring role as Septimus "Oubaas" van Zyl in the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, which he also directs. He is also known for his role as Spike Potas in the sitcom Orney Snork Nie, in 1989; and appeared in the comedy film The Gods Must be Crazy II, in 1989. He has been married to fellow 7de Laan star Sandra Vaughn since 1996. He is the father of actress Zetske van Pletzen. Born and raised in Stilfontein, van Pletzen currently resides in Johannesburg.
