Bio
Sindy Mabe is a South African television presenter and entrepreneur best known for anchoring the news programmes Morning Edition on e.tv (2003-2005) and Weekend Live on SABC2 (from 2005), and as a newsreader of SABC3's News in 60 Seconds.
She is currently the co-anchor of the e.tv breakfast news and actuality show, Sunrise, since 31 March 2008.
Career
Sindy completed a National Diploma in Retail Business Management at Wits Technikon and has a certificate in Public Relations at Damelin.
Her business savvy was put to good use when she started her own cleaning service. One of her passionate interests is creating jobs and growing in the business environment.
She was an anchor on e.tv's Morning Edition from 2003 until early 2005, when she and a number of other e.tv employees left the channel, citing heavy-handed management from Debora Patta among their grievances.
She instantly found a job as co-anchor (with Sherwin Bryce-Pease) of SABC2's Weekend Live news programme, which aired on Saturdays and Sundays. She anchored the first episode, which was broadcast on the channel on Saturday 2 April, 2005.
She later read the news for the SABC3 programme News in 60 Seconds, which airs on week nights at 20h30.
Sindy will begin co-anchoring (with Graeme Richards) the new e.tv breakfast show Sunrise, from Monday 31 March, 2008. The show replaces Morning Edition (previously known as The Toasty Show), airing every weekday from 06h00-08h00.
When she’s not gracing the small screen, Sindy enjoys reading and travelling.
