Darren Struwig is a South African actor, dancer and television presenter best known as a presenter and continuity announcer for M-Net's KTV kid's programming block.
Born in Germiston and raised in Johannesburg, Struwig attended Edenvale High School, matriculating in 2008. He performed in school productions from Grade 1 and won the Best Actor Award for three years in High School as well as receiving Awards at outside festivals.
In Grade 11 he received full colours for Drama and in Matric was deputy head boy in charge of cultural activities. In 2004 he attended the Kids Presenting Course at On Cue Communications where his love for presenting started.
He also passed his Grade 5 Trinity Speech and Drama examination with distinction, and also achieved his Grade 4 Irish Dancing Examination.
He started as a KTV presenter on M-Net in August 2007, on a six month training contract. After three months he received a full contract as a KTV presenter.
He currently presents shows such as the Power Edition on Saturdays from 08h00-10h00, as well as doing continuity presenting during the week between 14h00-17h00 on KTV.
As well as acting and presenting Struwig has been dancing since the age of 10. He qualified to represent South Africa twice and represented South Africa once in Glasgow in 2007. He was also the South African Irish Dance Champion for 15 years and under (2005).
Struwig has one brother, who is currently studying fashion design at the University of Johannesburg.
