Bio
Ricco Venancio (21) is an Angolan bank employee from Luanda best known as one of the 12 housemates on the third season of the reality television competition Big Brother Africa, in 2008.
Venancio has lived in four countries, on two continents and is always on the go. Born in Angola, he moved with his family to Lisbon in Portugal where he spent 15 years before heading to Manchester in the UK for two years.
After that he headed to Johannesburg for a year before returning to Angola in 2007 where he is currently living and working as a bank employee.
Passionate about his family, Ricco says that they are his heroes and that if he wins Big Brother Africa, his prize money would go to his mom’s project.
The Angolan believes that what goes around comes around and that people have got to fight for their dreams. He’d like to live in a world without violence, and encourages audiences watching Big Brother Africa to show the world that in Africa respect, education and wisdom play a huge part of our culture.
He says viewers should remember that this is only a game and says, "let’s keep our values a top priority regardless of the winner’s nationality."
Asked how he relaxes, Ricco says, "I was born relaxed". But he does confess that he’s a bit disorganized and can be lazy.
A huge football fan, he supports Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Atletico Sport Aviacao and Manchester United.
In addition, he’d love to travel round the world and enjoys the music of Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Keima Roupa.
