Bio

Robynn Soules is a South African dancer specialising in Latin and Ballroom best known for partnering radio DJ Adil More on the fifth season of the SABC2 reality dance competition Strictly Come Dancing, in 2008.

She has been a Ballroom and Latin American dancer since age 6 and has represented Western Province since 1996.

She is an Adult Western Province Champion and a South African National Ballroom and Latin American Championship finalist.

Strictly Come Dancing

Robynn was the professional dance coach and partner to Metro FM DJ Adil More in the fifth season of SABC2's Strictly Come Dancing reality competition, in 2008.

The first two weeks of the competition were non-elimination rounds, with the judges scoring dances by the male celebrities in Week 1 and the female celebrities in Week 2.

In Episode 3 - the first elimination episode - Robynn and Adil's Rumba managed to capture the love/hate relationship the dance is supposed to portray, but the judges thought there was too little attention paid to the technical aspects of the style.

The couple scored 24/40 from the judges, placing them joint fourth with Anele Mdoda and Brandon Eilers Le Riche. Combined with viewer voting they were safe from the dance-off that week.

In Episode 4 they performed the Tango which was was convincingly impressive - the judges called it his best work on the season to date and scored them 29/40, which tied them for third place (once again with Anele and Brandon).

Once again they were safe from the dance-off when viewer votes were added.

In the fifth episode Robynn and Adil struggled with the Paso Doble, although it was Adil who bore the brunt of the judges' wrath. The couple scored 23/40 - their lowest score of the series - which placed them in joint last place (tied once again, incredibly, with Anele and Brandon).

Thie time around the viewer votes were not enough to save the couple, who ended up in the dance-off against Gugu Zulu and his partner Sarah Cooper.

Although judge Salome Sechele voted to save Adil and Robynn, the other three judges - Dave Campbell, Tyrone Watkins and Lilian Phororo - voted to keep Gugu and Sarah.

Robynn and Adil thus became the third couple voted out of the competition, on 30 October, 2008.
