And, a pianist’s hand is severely injured in a tornado. By chance, a man shows up and drives her to the nearest hospital just in time to have a visiting hand surgeon perform the operation.

What compels a woman to pursue a relationship with a man in prison? Love Behind Bars profiles couples that have fought against all odds to make it work.
Some of them met through inmate personal ads posted on the internet, others through friends and family members of an incarcerated man. Some have even met through a church organization.
Their stories are all different but they all have one thing in common says Patricia Crossland, the 41-year-old mother of three, who fell in love with a man in jail; “These women are in love - it’s not about the crime, it’s not about the bars and walls that separate them, it’s about how you feel.”
