M-Net has announced the premiere of a new reality show called I Wanna Be and the search is on for daring and wishful contestants who want to be in it.
The show will take over from Idols5 once the season ends at the beginning of May and the entries have opened in preparation for filming.
The premise of the show: a make-over challenge with a difference. Each week contestants will spill their wildest dreams and then get the chance to live them on the show, with the help of three expert dream-maker types. There's no news yet as to who they are nor what they do that's dreamy - we'll keep you posted.
The show has specifically asked that anyone keen on entering thinks big and goes wild with ideas so if you've had something that seems impossible to organise now would be a good time to go for it.
Things the show suggests as ideas include flying a helicopter, performing at a packed stadium to crazed fans, kissing a character in a soapie, fighting in a boxing ring, walking a trapeze and sporting the extreme.
According to Helen Smit, Head of M-Net’s Local Content, the show is about stepping out of comfort zones to try the sorts of things one only dreams about. “It’s an exciting show that will challenge people to step up and see if they have what it takes to fulfil the dreams they may have abandoned due to lack of time, money or even talent," she says. "It will be fascinating to see if they can pull it off.”
