The first live show of
SA's Got Talent aired on Monday night and featured performances by the first seven semi-finalists, who were vying for a coveted spot in the Grand Finale on Thursday night.
After the votes were counted beatboxer George Avakian was revealed as the public's choice, polling the most votes in total.
Then it was time for the judges' choice and they had to pick between guitar supremo Louwtjie Rothman and eight-year-old ballroom dancers Cameron Lombard and Natasha Jacobs.
Randall Abrahams went with Louwtjie,
Shado Twala chose the youngsters and the deciding vote was left to
Ian von Memerty, who chose Louwtjie as the second finalist.
Both semi-finalists now go through to the grand finale where they will stand a chance of winning R250,000 in Thursday night's show.
It was the last chance for 40-year-old voice coach F.A.I.T.H. (Ndukwana) from Goodwood; 28-year-old physical comedian Jody Kleinhans from Marina Da Gama in Cape Town; teenage hip hop dance crew Roses from Johannesburg; and the traditional dance group Tshwaraganang from Luka, North West Province, who along with Lombard and Jacobs didn't get enough votes to stay in the contest and now pack their bags for home.
The battle for the next two places in the grand finale continues on Tuesday night when a further seven semi-finalists compete in a live show.
Tuesday night's show features dancers, drummers, hip hop artists and magicians, namely Daniel Petersen III & Daniel Petersen; Darren Rajbal; Adino Trapani & Astro The Dinosaur; Cleo Filander; Soccer Mania; Ubumbano and Show Stopaz.
