Montana Star Az Abrahams Dies

Actor and DJ Az Abrahams was tragically killed on Saturday (21 November) when the car he was travelling in hit a concrete barrier on the N1 highway near Bellville.

According to a SAPA news report, Abrahams was returning home from work when his vehicle hit a barrier and overturned. No other car was present at the scene of the crash.

Abrahams - who recently increased his national profile considerably after starring as Winston Phillips in the SABC1 drama series Montana - was well known to Capetonians as the host of the Heart Party Beatz show on Heart 104.9 FM.

Az appeared in the sitcoms SOS and Madam & Eve (both on e.tv) and had a leading role in the groundbreaking M-Net mini-series Innocent Times, in 2008.

He also acted in a number of South African films, including the feature Confessions of a Gambler, the Anant Singh docu-drama More Than Just a Game and the award-winning Dollars and White Pipes.

Police have not yet been able to ascertain what caused the accident, but are investigating a case of culpable homicide.

Az is survived by a son and a daughter.

I am very saddened by his death. We all have to go but we;ll go in different ways.

Fully agree re-life being too short - it's so easy to get wrapped-up in petty, unimportant things when it's all such a heartbeat.

What happened to mourning?

I don't understand why people need to mourn, life goes on and wasting time on mourning is just not on. I wouldn't want anyone to mourn for me. Carry on with your lives because everyone came to the world alone and we will leave alone. Remember me but don't mourn.

Sorry love I am loved so much you would be jealous......... Gosh stop being so emotional all I am saying is that I would want people to move on, mourning won't bring anyone back and how long is this ,mourning period. Remember a person but do not stop your life because that person is no longer there. That person would want you to be happy and mourning is not happiness.................

The bottom line is people are heartless. There is nothing wrong in mourning.
U are not putting your life on hold but u still remember the deceased in a special way. Love ones are brought to us for a reason to love and to give them nothing but more love. You can't stay with someone and love him/her for decades and all of a sudden when she/he passes away u feel nothing. Some people are part of us and will always be even after death. I guess when u love someone so unconditionaly u can't just pretend she /he never existed.

Rest in peace dude - till we meet again .We are all brothers in christ.

I just learnt about the loss of a fellow brother.I first met the man on the failed project Derailed.I feel now his life has been Derailed but in the hands of the Divine Creator as a spirit being he lives on in our hearts!!!!RIP AZ and may his. Son and daughter proclaim bravely that his blood run through them.
