Andrew Garcia Wins American Idol 9!

So Hollywood week has begun, Ellen's arrived as judge and was the bomb (so much better than on her talk show*) and 23-year contestant Andrew Garcia's going to win the shebang.

I just don't see how things can pan out any other way after his kickbutt rendition of Paula Abdul's Straight Up.

He took the competition to a completely different level from everyone else: the way he remixed and arranged the track, the tone of his voice, the sincerity and clarity and generally-cool of his attitude - everything about him was superbo.

Not because of his I'm-having-a-baby-on-stage storyline but because of his voice and performance specifically.

Worried that that Tina Turner wig of hers could be a prob. though.

You may not remember him - he was tucked away in that rubbish group in Part 2 of the show. The group with the chick who thought she was so special 'cos she made Hollywood week last season too - the one all wounded in the background of the pic.

Jeff stood out from the rest of them bigtime - has husky, different, yet Neil Diamond sort of voice.

The chick with the "I could con you that I'm good when I'm not " factor.

When she uttered her opening notes I thought she has potential, until I realised that she's just a mix of a bunch of different singers and not enough of anything specific - or herself.

It's like she sings as a combo of every country and pop guitar-playing singer you can think of, without delivering anything of herself.

*I enjoy Ellen's shows but often feel she's too gushy and not snarky enough, spesh with celeb types.

I still miss Paula, can't belive the guy who went to juvenile prison did not make, he was my favourite, they should have given him another chance.

Watching Idols before they pick up the their 24 - ha ha ha I like the smile on Ellen's face - smiling at Ashley Rodriguez's performance. That look and smile is saying, I just want to do you. he he he. Ellen, I will be watching you carefully around sexy gals
