Auditions for the upcoming second season of
So You Think You Can Dance SA began in Durban last Saturday ( 8 May) and move to Jozi this weekend.
They take place on both Saturday (15 May) and Sunday (16 May) at the Alexander Theatre in Braamfontein.
Word from the Durbs auditions is that six semi-finalists have won a ticket to the next call-back phase that will take place in Jozi.
We were stumped when we heard: six is very few so if you're thinking of going for it in Jozi or Cape Town:
do it. There are places to be danced for!
In other news surrounding the show, SABC1 has confirmed that
Sade Giliberti will be back as host. Also returning are
Harold Van Buuren,
David Matamela and
Didi Moses, as the three main judges for the season.
If you're going to the auditions - a recap of important news:
Contestants must be between the ages of 18 and 30. To audition you need to choreograph your own short dance routine and bring your own music (1 CD + back-up copy CD).
You must take your ID book. Also, please don't wear any branded clothing.
Registration starts at 07h00 and the auditions start at 08h00: it's best to get there as early as possible. The registration desk closes at 14h00 on each day.
The Cape Town auditions go down next Sunday, 23 May at the Waterfront Theatre School.
