23 Years Later: Oprah Returns To Williamson, West Virgina

In 1987, The Oprah Winfrey Show visited the small town of Williamson, West Virginia. The town had been thrust into the national spotlight when Mike Sisco, a local man with AIDS, jumped into a public swimming pool.

While this would not be news in recent years, it was a lightning rod for anger and fear about AIDS and homosexuality in 1987.

Though Mike passed away in 1994, he changed his hometown forever. 23 years after Oprah's first visit, some of the citizens who spoke out have returned to the Williamson Field House, where the original show was filmed, to reflect on whether their opinions have changed with time.

First Television Interview: Discovery Headquarters Hostages Come Forward

On September 1, 2010, at about 1 p.m., a man entered the lobby of the Discovery Communications headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was wielding a gun and wore a yellow backpack filled with explosive devices.

He took three hostages - two Discovery employees and a security guard. Now, the hostages speak for the first time.
