As you know this past Saturday I attended a wedding of two guys who won the on-air reality wedding show presented by Phat Joe’s daily breakfast show (6-9am) on Heart 104.9FM in which male contestants could enter and stand a chance to find their soulmate in the Two Guys and a Wedding competition.
The glamorous wedding, that cost 1.4 million, took place at the V&A Waterfront on the Nautilus Yacht.
After a long selection process 35-year old Lekker Larry was chosen as the first groom who got a chance to choose his partner from other 5 guys who entered the competition. After some chatting and flirting Lekker Larry (real name Lloyd Kandlin) chose 29-year old Hastige Hendrik (real name Shane Everts) to be his partner and soulmate.

Lekker Larry and Hastige Hendrik have never met before - they only communicated through radio and sms's. They revealed their true identities on their wedding day, just before they said: "I do". Read more about this HERE .
We arrived just before the ceremony could start. These are the ladies who were entertaining guests as we waited for the grooms to arrive. They are called Sterling EQ.
Comedian Kagiso Lediga was the MC of the wedding. He took to the stage to announce that the grooms were coming.
Initially, after the competition was announced on-air, Kagiso Lediga was a leader of the protesters who called themselves POKE (People Opposing Kak Entertainment). They protested in front of Heart 104.9 FM studios in Green Point. Apparently the protest was just a prank - dunno, maybe it was just a publicity stunt. He was then asked to be the MC.
What I picked up about this teamskobo is that he doesn't really like taking pictures - he kept on making this "so bored or annoyed" face when I asked to take a picture of him and I was rolling my eyes too.
But he was better than Phat Joe who was always busy when I needed to take a picture of him posing for us. He said "one take one take" to this man who was taking a picture of him and me. And I was like: "Oh wow, but I want to take a picture of you posing alone!" So I couldn't do it.

The grooms, Lekker Larry and Hastige Hendrik arrived. They went to the boat where Reverend Daniel Brits from the African Church was waiting for them. Everyone was so happy and screaming when they arrived and they were all smiles.
Gawsh you have to see Phat Joe live to see how hottt this man is tjo! He is so hot I just wished I could see the lucky lady in his life.
He also took to the stage and twanged, telling us about the process of the competition and all. He then asked the families of the two grooms to make their way to the yacht.
Some of media crews were allowed to go to the yacht to take pictures. Some of us were down there taking our pics. I tried to get some nice pics even though I was far away.
Well Reverend did his thing, I couldn't hear him clearly as the sound was on-and-off, but he made a lengthy speech before the grooms took off their masks to say their vows then: "I do". After they said “I do”, Reverend told them they could kiss.
I sooo wanted to hear what he was going to say when he had to say “you may kiss the……” but the sound went off so I didn’t hear whether he said “you may kiss the bride or the groom” but I think he said “you may kiss your groom”.
Hastige Hendrik grabbed Lekker Larry and gave him a smooch. The media guys on the yacht asked them to smooch again. They kissed about three times - everyone was screaming.
After that they came down so that the media could interview them. They were so happy - it really didn’t look as if they didn’t know each other. It looked like they’ve known each other for a long time. I think they make a cute couple. I wish them all the best in their marriage and that they won’t run to the nearest court when they have problems or disagreements.
We were allowed to go inside the yacht when the ceremony was done. This is what it looks like inside. Well I didn't go up there. I just didn't feel like going up - maybe I was saving myself from something,

Heeeheh I asked shim if I could take a picture of him and he refused to take a picture alone. He was like: “Your friend must come take a picture with me darling,” and my friend didn’t want to but shim insisted that one of us take a picture with shim.
We were giggling and he was like: “Do I look like I’m joking darlings?” with that big voice and the figure movement - I was afraid that shim will slap me. But I decided to take picture with shim but my friend didn’t take it by mistake, eish. So I stole this one when shim was busy taking pics with other peeps.
I liked this couple. They were dressed nicely, especially the guy lol.

Thanks to Heart 104 FM for inviting us to the wedding. We really enjoyed ourselves. It was a nice experience. It was my first time attending a gay wedding and it really didn’t feel like there’s something unusual.....well there isn’t anyway.
