Three 7de Laaners will be taking their exits from the soapie soon and will each be pursuing new acting and showbiz projects.
SABC2 has renewed the soapie for a 13th season and the show has confirmed that
Hendrik Cronjé, who plays Lukas,
Sekoati Tsubane (Kabelo) and
Illse Roos (Isabelle) will no longer be full time cast members.
From the sounds of it the contracts for the three characters weren't renewed on a full time basis, as so often happens on soapies when renewals come up. The threesome will still be part of the soapie in a part time capacity, popping in for various storylines but won't be involved in daily storylines.
Each of them will heading off to pursue other projects which they haven't had time for while they've been on the show full time.
Hendrik has a holiday to planned - to Thailand - and will be launching a new hush-hush project when he returns and both Sekoati and Ilse will be pursuing music.
Sekoati, who suffered the
loss of his baby in June this year, will be releasing a 12-track dance album soon, with Terry Pinana. Terry wrote the music and Sekoati wrote the lyrics to 10 of the tracks.
Ilse will continue pursuing her music career too, while spending more time with her children.
Word from the soapie is that their departure will see the emergence of new characters. We'll keep you scooped when we hear more.
