Idols: Sad Farewell to Lefa

OK , as you all know I was Lefa’s greatest fan. I always made sure that I had a chat with him every time I went to the recording of the live show, because I believed in him well I still do.  I was his groupie, so maybe my opinion on this might sound biased.

Lefa
From the top 3 in 2 consecutive weeks to being eliminated? hache!
One might argue that his 2nd perfomance on sunday might have cost him his spot in the top 4 but i think it all goes down to how many of you 'fans' can afford to vote for you. I doubt his perfomance had anything to do with it.
Crushanda was the star of sunday night, and Freddie didnt give us anything to write home about.  Mark on the other hand shem, i still struggle to see what kept him this long. Freddie and Dave i think it was clear from the top 10 stages that they will be in until the top 2.

But what I learnt in the past seasons about idols is that its about how many of your fans can afford to vote for you. Yes we might have a dstv decoder at home in Taung on compact that my brother somewhere in Johannesburg is paying for, but can I afford to spend R1.50 per sms or 20 moola on mxit to vote for my favourite contestant?

Mark

I think I already know where the competition is going and who is going to be in the top 3. Freddie, Mark and Dave. Not because they were the best in the competition but probably because their fans can afford to vote enough to keep them in the competition.

Dave

I know these are pop idols and all but i wish somewhere in the competition they could have a twist and have these contestants sing a more ‘kasi’ music genre and see how these boys would have done. I mean Freddie and Dave we have been seen the same style, same type of performances and same everything every week, it would have been nice to see them dance to a kwaito tune or something LOL.

Fred

I also heard that Nolly and Phaksy are an item, wishing them well. Age is really nothing but a number #JustSaying.

Phaksy
he is soo nunus bandla, i mean who could blame Nolly.

Nolly

I am going to continue voting for Crushanda, even though I know she will not win this :(. She is the only woman still left in the competition and i think vocally she is talented. She Crushanda's the songs *best Gareth's voice* every week .

Chrushanda

Good luck to Lefa on his future endeavours, hope to see him again soon.
If anyone knows Bokkie from last season idols, please tell him I am still waiting for his album. I was as sad to see him leave, as I was with Lefa last night. Like Unathi, I shed a tear.

Who do you think should have left yesterday? Did you vote? Are you going to continue voting?  Who do you think is winning this?

Sometimes Democracy sucks. I also thought Lefa would go to the top 3, even expected a miracle that he might win it, but i guess we need Black Idols...lol.

True, at the end of the day is vote thats count......talent or no talent...........I bet abo Mark n Freddies buy airtime for the ppl in the street so they can get votes.

I will countinue voting for Crushanda for as long as she last.

In Gareth, Randall & HIGHVELD BREAKFAST eXPRESS' s eyes Dave is the winner.

TEAM CRUSHANDA ALL THE WAY.

Lol and it will take a looong time to have a black idol. We just can't afford to buy 7 sim cards, buy all of them airtime and vote shem. I wish we could vote online too.

Eish! I just KNEW that it was Lefa this week who was going to go home. And next week? Chrishanda. Why? Like many of you here it all boils down to affordability. We simply do not have the money to buy 7 sim cards and feed them every week to vote. It is simply impossible for us blacks. Of course All the people left there except Chrishanda sing RUBBISH. Look at Kelly did she deserve to go? NO. She and Chrishanda and Lefa were the most talented in this bunch for me. So we simply do not have the money to keep our idols in the game. Whites will always win whether they sing rubbish and look like they are near heart attacks. Even Freddie is not good for me. Right now only Chrishanda makes sense and most voters know it but money talks in Idols and MNET ne?

Cande are you really from Taung? If so, we are home girls.

I feel guilty because i only used one (instead of 3) mxit account to vote. All the best to him. I thought that I was gonna cry for Lefa like I cried for Luclay, but seeing my captain (Jimmy) on Top Billing made forget about Lefa & start imagining myself living in J's beautiful house.

I dont think I'll be voting but if I change my mind, it'll be Crushanda.

This is the same as Big Brother, None of South Africans will ever win BB, coming to Idols no black fellow can win. The Mlungus make sure they use all their investments money to vote for their favourites. i guess Mara Louw was right nnneh....

So hurt and disappointed that Lefa was voted out.  I have been voting for the guy all along and my husband is convinced that this competition is about pure talent and not race, he has been voting for Freddie.  Yesterday when he left he was disappointed and felt guilty that he did not support his own.  I would like to believe that Lefa's race has nothing to do with him being voted out.

Dave is the firm favourite coz most white folk like rock music and that is his genre, Freddie's drunken brawl caused him fans and damaged his reputation thus he is forever on the bottom 3.  Mark on the other hand, is a better sing than the two but Gareth and Randall have not been giving him good reviews.  Crushanda is a great singer shem.
