It’s back!!!
Finally, after months of pre-production and script-writing and six months of shooting and post-production, the long-awaited second season of Montana is back on Tuesday 17 Jan 20:30 on sabc1! Can I get a hand-clap! Shout it from the rooftops! Forgive my excitement, I just can’t contain myself – it’s been too long! I can’t wait to see all our hard work finally come together on the small screen!
As with the first season, I’ll be writing this blog to keep our fans updated on what to expect and some behind-the-scenes news and laughs. For the foreseeable future, it might only be fortnightly but no less informative and fun!
Let me start with a recap of what happened in the last episode.
- Noli, with her knowledge of the perlemoen scandal Victor was involved in, tried to trap Bruce Hall at the Khula Cultural Centre but ended up being ‘saved’ by Lwazi who managed to kill the man.
- Lwazi ran off to get help but ended up being kidnapped, by whom we don’t know.
- Dalene and Winston had a heart-to-heart in her salon shortly after Winston got run off the road – it turned out Winston knew all about her affair with Richard but he forgave her and she fell weeping into his arms.
- Zola was faced with the prospect of earning money the illegal way Simphiwe had done – through selling drugs.
- Patrick and Nothemba Ntshinga were faced with upheaval – Patrick was the brother to the murdered corpse discovered at the KCC and the prime suspect in the case.
- Vatiswa was driven back to the casino and depression by the knowledge of Dalene and Richard’s affair.

Montana - The Final Installment.So, what to expect in this second season of 56 episodes?
The love triangle between Victor (Charles Tertiens), Nolitha (Zikhona Sodlaka) and Lwazi – also known as “Sparks” (Anelisa Phewa) – heats up this season. Noli has to choose between the two at some point as all sorts of secrets start emerging.
Dalene is back with a vengeance this season as she raises the stakes in business and pleasure. Her devoted husband, Winston (now played by Ruben Engel) is tested by his wife’s business plans. Her shady dealings may affect his political career. And somebody from Dalene’s distant past resurfaces unexpectedly.
Vatiswa and Richard’s twisted, abusive relationship reaches a point of no return. Only one of them will survive and emerge stronger than before.
The twins, Zoli (Zikhona Mda) and Zola (Mthunzi Ntoyi) follow on their journey of self discovery as they work their way through young love and friendships. Zoli finds love in an unexpected place.
In this second season of Montana, new colourful characters join the already star studded cast. Namely, Mzu Ntantiso who plays Vuks, Vatiswa’s (played by Ayanda Tini) younger brother who is always ready to party. There’s a new addition to the B-Boys group, Pepi de Nobriga plays in the role of Trix. She is a feisty young dancer who joins the boys as they battle it out for top honours at break dancing competitions. The question is though, will the B-Boys – Denver (Ambrose Uren), Zola (Mthunzi Ntoyi) and Simphiwe (Buntu Plam) – accept this diamond in the rough?
In this season we are entertained by the music and flare of the B-Boys as well as cameo performances by Emo Adams and Take Note, DJ Easy and one of Montana’s own, Rochelle (played by Lu Chase) who wows the crowds with her on stage charisma. Is this how Rochelle intends to sweep the unrequited love of her life off his feet?
