With the
first auditions for the third season of
SA's Got Talent coming up on 23 June the big question looms: who will the judges be?
Now that the series has
moved from SABC2 to e.tv will the channel be going for a new panel of judges to change the show dramatically or will the regular threesome be back?
TVSA can reveal that they will be.
If all goes according to plan with their negotiations and availability.
e.tv have confirmed to us that
Randall Abrahams,
Shado Twala and
Ian von Memerty have all been approached to return to judge the season and are currently in contractual and availability talks.
We doubt that Ian will be too busy to judge - with
Strictly Come Dancing off our screens too we haven't clapped eyes on him since the last season of SAGT. Shado's probably also available with her being on radio (DJ's always seem to have an abundance of free time) but the same can't be said for Randall.
Besides his roles as judge on
Idols 8 and CEO of the SAMAs he's just also landed a job as the Managing Director of Universal Music South Africa. Word from M-Net is that he'll be taking on the job immediately and will be overseeing Universal in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa which will naturally keep him very busy.
Too busy to judge on SAGT? We'll see. If he is, who should replace him?
While the judges are in high demand to be on the season, the presenters aren't. Season 1 and 2 presenters
Anele Mdoda and
Rob van Vuuren won't be returning to host. Word from e.tv is that the channel feels that they represent SABC 2 too strongly and the channel wants presenters who'll "represent the e.tv vibe."
Auditions for new presenters are currently underway and they'll be chosen soon. We'll keep you posted as soon as they're confirmed. Is there anyone in particular you'd like to see?
