Dawid Minnaar, Elma Postma, Neels van Jaarsveld and Odelle de Wet will say goodbye to kykNET soapie Binneland in 2014.
Why? They're being written out.
"It's inherent to the nature of a series that airs daily: characters are written in, they fulfill a dramatic story function and then it's time to say goodbye to them," says Elsje Stark of Stark Films, who produce the show.
"We have only the highest praise for the professional way in which these actors have done their job and contributed to the success of the series. We wish them all the best for the future," she says. " The opportunity presents itself now to introduce dynamic and interesting stories with fresh new talent."
Delia Richter (Odelle de Wet) and Gideon Basson (Neels van Jaarsveld) will still be on screen until the end of March 2014.
In January 2014 Franz Basson (Dawid Minnaar) will have to make a difficult choice with the arrival of Dr Vivienne Armandt, who'll be played by Mary-Anne Barlow. His choice will impact on his future with Bea (Elma Postma) and her children, Morné (Ruan Wessels) en Louisa (Helena van Urk) - it will push them in one of two directions ...
Viewers will know what the outcome of his decision is in May 2014.
