Now that they know they've landed each other, when will their bells ring? Word from Ty is that they're waiting to say "I do" because they've got too much to do first.
"We both have big plans for this year," Ty told me when I chatted to him recently. "Organising a wedding is not really our priority at the moment, we've got a lot to do this year."
The couple have officially relocated to Cape Town and are living in Sea Point. Nicole still commutes between cities but Ty's firmly entrenched in the city, working behind the camera at a production company with his family.
More from Ty: "When The Wild came to an end it didn't make sense for me to stay in Johannesburg. All my friends and family are in Cape Town and the company that I now work for is a family company, based in Cape Town and this is the line I want to do in future. I don't want to get stuck doing soap operas."
We went on to chatter about the dirty details of how they met. They first saw each other when Nicole auditioned for The Wild and then clicked when she landed the
guest role of Lilly and worked with Ty on set in 2011. A couple of months later they got together and started dating in October 2012.
Obviously Nicole's beauty queen pedigree would have been an immediate attraction for him but what else makes his heart tick?
In Ty's words: "Nicole's got a way with people. She can make even the most shy and depressed person smile. She's incredibly charming, thoughtful, she's very loving and very solid. She
is the person that I see myself spending the rest of my life with."
