Open Letter to ONE on SABC 1

One SAAndile One

Dear ONE
I have always made my feelings for you known. I dig you a lot and mostly because you support local music, my passion.

However, I have several concerns that I would like to bring to your attention.

Why is your studio made out to be Kelly Khumalo's second home? Just because she personally thanked your team on her CD sleeve? Does that mean I will also be on the show, seeing that I've also "thanked" you for pumping local sounds?

Kelly

Watching her flirt with Andile the way she does, calling him "Andy" also kinda pisses me off. Please, you've given her enough exposure already, especially since there isn't a video out yet, or at least I haven't seen it.

Sbudalicious

SA Music does not evolve around TS Records. The last CD I bought was DJ Sbu's album, a decision I am very proud of. However, I am not impressed about seeing him on your show all the time.  Ok, maybe "all the time" is a bit of an exaggeration but you know what I mean.

I love Brown Dash's Ayobayo but that does not mean you should bring him to the show more than once in less than 2 months. What about other artists, who could use the exposure? The same goes for Sash as well.

Brown Da

How many times has Mgarimbe been invited to the show ever since Sista Bethina broke out?? Why??

Mgarimbe

Having said all of the above, I would like to thank you (again) for the Christmas Special tonight. It was good seeing fresh faces like Chomee, Prokid, Proverb and Selwyn. I'm saying "fresh" because I don't think they've been to a One recording in the past 6 months.

While we are on the subject  of christmas, please thank Malaika for their R2 000 donation to charity but really, next time they should consider donating more money than what the cheque costs. They can afford it.

Ja, ja, ja, I know. It's the thought that counts right?

It's been a great year for local music, the SAMA's 2007 are gonna be even more exciting!!

Hopefully next year you'll spread the love a little more than you did this year. Give the same amount of love you've given to other local acts as well.

Thank you for taking time to read this note but in closing I just wanna say slow down on the YFM mimicking.

Regards,

A devoted Fan, Brown Shuga

Kelly Khumalo is boring...she must really stop these acts of hers and maybe people will like her...not!
