"Like Sands Through A Mine Shaft, These Are The Questions to IsiDays-o"

An Original DAYS OF OUR LIVES and ISIDINGO Fictional Crossover Special by CHARMED_DUDE

BlackFamIsiDays-o (‘Isidingo’ ‘Days of our Lives’) is a local crossover Blog-isode written by TVSA Blogger, Charmed_Dude. It features  most  of the cast members from “Days of our Lives” and “Isidingo” and combines the two in a crossover special.

Last week saw the premiere of the Blog-isodes “IsiDays-o” and in a special two part Premiere which set the story up to what would be told over the course of the first season of “IsiDays-o”.

How Does The Blog-isodes Work?
Simple really. It’s like Webisodes but they put onto my blog. Each Blog-isode is written to be detailed enough, yet not too long so the reader doesn’t loose interest.

When will Blog-isodes be released?
Often new blog-isodes will be released Monday/Tuesday in the early week. The first week to kick the series off, there was a two day premiere.

Who is featured in the crossover?
For the first season of “IsiDays-o” we will focus primarily on Marlena and her Days family coming to SA to live with the Matabane’s from “Isidingo”. However to provide variety, numerous other cast members from these shows will be made reference to, will make cameo appearances and some will be interweaved into the exciting storyline. For example, Hope, Kate, Lexie, Celeste, Tek all from Days will be featured. From Isidingo we can look forward to not only seeing the Matabane family, but also Barker, Georgie, Len, Maggie, Dr. Havel, Cherel. More characters will be introduced as the Blog-isodes continue, but to keep readers focused, there will only be one major storyline with two or three sub-storylines running simultaneously.

“IsiDays-o” will not only feature the likes of TV Actors and Actresses from these two soaps, other Special Guest Stars, such as TVSA’s Brown Shuga whom has already made her debut on the blog-isode will be featured. Look out for more as well as cameo roles from other TV Stars from other TV Shows.

What’s The Genre?
Well I have decided to go with the likes of a Dramadey (Drama and Comedy) as it make it much more interesting for readers to read. The show is off course a continuing soap, but it’s a mixture between an American one and an South African Soap so it should be really interesting!

Do I need to be a regular “Isidingo” and/or “Days of our Lives” viewer/fan to read the blog-isode?
No, not at all! In fact I write up brief character histories when introducing new characters and keep making references to their past. It’s quite new reader friendly. So even if you don’t watch either or both shows, join in this first time crossover experience and join in reading the fun. In fact I think I might be able to bravely say, if you hardly watch any of the shows, it would be safe to read the blog-isodes because the way the characters and the blog-isodes are written!

The Main Plot/Storyline.
The main storyline came to me months back in A Soap Crossover Thread. It was then after it being the most enjoyed plot, I decided to write about it in detailed and create a story arc leading to the events of this storyline. Without giving too much away the main plot is basically about Dr. Marlena Evans being sentenced as a last resort to move to SA and help heal Zeb Matabane with his paralysis. However the two soon clash and that’s when the drama and fun continues. I knew however If I was going to make “IsiDays-o” long enough I needed to add more drama, and more characters to carry the story so I added both families and added some other existing cast to create more subplots and create please readers in all ways.

How long will this go on for?
Well “Days of our Lives” has reached it’s 40 Years- so if Tashi and Luke keep TVSA up for that long, then that’s how long the blog-isode will be. Joking. Although this is a Soap, it will have a Series format. So it will be published once a week (sometimes twice a week if it’s a two part special), it will run for a couple of blog-isodes, till the storyline is concluded and then the first season will be wrapped up. It will take a break before continuing with new and exciting storylines and crossover specials.

Is there a chance of another mixed crossover from other shows/soaps?
I was considering this but since this is “IsiDays-o” which is the mixture of “Isidingo” and “Days of our Lives” it would be impossible to do a crossover with characters from other shows. However I will do cameo and guest arcs for some characters from other shows, as it would certainly broaden the readers.

What happens in the Blog-isode, spoiler, fact or fiction concerning “Days of our Lives” and “Isidingo”?
The premises of the blog-isodes and most character history, I honour it to remain true to both amazing shows, but I take the blog-isodes in my own creative hand and write the characters and story the way I want to giving them new limits and horizons and making it more interesting. I will however keep to the core essence of most characters. So while a character history of the “IsiDays-o” premise is majorly true with the character history, but from Episode 1 they lead complete different lives from their Soap lives.

Do you have the storyline planned out?
No, I am too lazy. Hehe. I think one of the interesting and creative freedoms is having the ability to go anywhere and everywhere with your characters and seeing as this is a Fictional Blog-isode, I have the creative freedom to go anywhere with my characters and storyline. I can push the limit and boundaries of things and provide Soap Fans with new cravings. The show doesn’t need an end point, seeing as there is endless writing possibilities for the story and characters to go.
One of the things I would appreciate the most is constructive criticism, if someone doesn’t like where the story or character is heading, to make a note of it by posting a comment or if you enjoyed something, make a note of it so I know how to please the reader and Comments and Suggestions for the stories are always welcomed!

What can we look forward too?
Oh there’s so much going on with “IsiDays-o” this season. I have had so many ideas, but had to scrap most because I didn’t want 6 or 7 Storylines to be running at the same time, it would confuse readers and I would run out very soon. So for this season we can look forward to one major storyline regarding Marlena helping Zeb and these two consipiring to get rid of each other. Zeb will bring out the evil in Marlena and so will she bring out the demon, figuratively speaking, in Zeb. It’s a real unholy alliance of characters. And there is other storylines to look forward to such as Belle’s kidnapping and whose behind it, how does it contribute to the show, Lexie’s running from the truth and what her secret is, Why Hope is seeing a Sangoma and all of a sudden in South Africa? I think the best part to look forward to is putting the American Family; The Black/Brady/Evans family into a new environment, everything is different, the culture, the people and they have to learn to adapt and customise themselves. At first it’s going to be quite funny, but I think that the Brady/Black/Evan’s have a few tricks to teach the Matabane’s and vice-versa. I am certainly looking forward to writing that the most.

If you haven’t read the exicitng two part premeire- yet, do so now before reading the next exciting blog-isode.
