Thursday night (5 July) was the penultimate episode of
Strictly Come Dancing and it was more than a 50/50 decision that saw the wildlife show presenter
Erald Felix's demise.
African shields could not protect Erald and
Mary from being voted out of the competition with just the final remaining. They remained at the bottom of the log last week with 54 points.
Tyrone commented that Erald is a great performer but that he lacks technique and therefore could not score high marks.
The couple performed their Foxtrot to the tune of “Hey Big Spender” and their Samba was inspired by African shields.
Erald commented that he did not have a favourite dance, but that the journey had been a good one for him.
HHP and
Hayley, crowd favourites and top of the log contenders, remained in the top spot with 65 out of 80 from the judges. The audience lapped up their Foxtrot and the judges were lavish in their praise.
Lillian called it elegant and sophisticated and
Dave said, “Mr Fox would have loved this trot!” For once even Tyrone agreed with the other judges’ assessments.
Their Samba was equally enticing with the audience clapping to the Samba beat of “Cuban Pete”. Tyrone commented that it was more a visual than a technical performance.
When asked what his favourite dances were HHP commented that he liked the Tango and the Viennese Waltz.
Candice and
Quintus again delivered an inspired performance as Quintus “conducted” Candice through the Viennese Waltz.
Although
Salome did not like the beginning (their representation of a masked ball did not thrill the judges), Dave said, “Candice, you are elegance personified!”
Although Candice has no great fondness for the Latin dances, she and Quintus enjoyed the jive. The audience loved their fire starting performance and Tyrone gushed, “Thank you for bringing my lady back!”
Candice, who obviously loves the ballroom dances, said that she enjoyed the Foxtrot and the Viennese Waltz the most.
So now it all comes down to Candice and Quintus vs HHP and Hayley in this week's finale, to determine the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 3.
