Last week it was a secret and this week e.tv's going wild with preparations for their new 24-hour Satellite news channel. They've put up a listing of all the jobs they've got on offer and it's so exciting to see - they're looking for everything from producers to writers to anchors to co-ordinators, camera operators, producers, floor assistants and more.

I'm thinking of applying for a weather anchor position - it's one of the things I've always wanted to be - that and a backing singer in a group of three. Have you seen the John Travolta movie Lucky Numbers where he's a weather anchor who tries to rig the Lotto from behind-the-scenes?

e.tv + weather anchor + Lotto Live = you see where I'm going.

I reckon there's so much a weather anchor could do that they don't do enough - things like wear super-short skirts when it's boiling and make a fuss about the heatt or be like the worlds ultimate weather anchor aka Femi Oke.

you're SO right about that weather reporting..it really needs some vava-voom...i'm thinkin of a Pamela Anderson Type of presenter...(ok I donno if you have that...hi hi hi ...but you know she wasnt like that long ago..LOL).....anyways we need some humor and some commentary from the presenter...an occassional joke perhaps....yeah I know you could do it Tash Tash..(remember the Pamela Anderson look though....-or if they are going the AA route..mmhh maybe someone like Lil-Kim..hi hi hi )

seriously i'm gonna apply for these posts..I wanna be a gofer, or a boom something..I've always wondered what they do

LOLO Sponono, it is a Gaffer and that person is a chief lighting technician! lol! do you have the skills? Apply!

Maybe stick to Boom Swinger that is a skill but with a bit of training you will be the Pro! just a warning though your arms must be fit or else you will collapse holding that boom for hours! lol!

tizoz I was thinking more like: a gofer or go-fer is an employee who is often sent on errands.especially in the entertainment industries) --Go for this Sponono, go for that sponono...hi hi hi then I'll get to meet all these schlebs as a gofer...
but that gaffer has to do with elcrtical stuff which i'donno nothin about mina i wanna meet the who's who LOL

Boom Swinger sounds cool ...i swing the boom..ha ha ha ...is that what they say when asked so what do you do as a boom swinger...shu!!!!!

LOL tizoz..i think i'll pass kanti (i remeber this Xhosa drama in was part of where there was one guy we were told to ask if we needed anything and I tell you the guy used to literary RUN to get whateva we needed...even when we finished he's the one who had to pack and they told us not touch anything and you know us muntus are so used to working and qoqaring after any event..but the Runner was told to do it ...shu!! we really felt like schelbs...
