(THIS IS LONG, BE WARNED)On Friday, 25 January 2008, The Stars of Mzansi Awards (you are gonna get tired of hearing this name) were launched at The Venue, Melrose Arch and I was very excited about the launch so I got hold of my camera and went off in search of celeb pictures.
The awards are hosted by SABC 1 and they are trying very hard not to make them an SABC thing & include other stations but it's difficult. Already we hear that Scandal has decided to withdraw Sello Maake Ka Ncube's name from the Best Actor nominees list.
I say they must replace it with Seputla's name!! Maybe it's a sign...
On to the launch...
I don't know if I've ever said it out loud but I'm a huge Gareth Cliff fan! I just lurve his "don't care" attitude & he's funny....
even though the TVSA Newsdesk once described him as "... the reason there's a mute button on every single handheld remote control device that has ever been made, right around the world", I think he's kinda cute!
He was given the job of MC for the evening, but I doubt the people who were there noticed him on that stage.
Eish kodwa people are rude, there was this guy who went up there giving a speech (what's up with speeches when we are boozing anyway, save it for the press conference) and we struggled to even hear what the guy was saying coz there was just too much noise and people continued talking loudly throughout his speech.
It didn't matter that "celebs" were supposedly in Cape Town for the J&B Met, I saw quite a number of familiar faces around....
SABC 1 Brand Ambassadors: Lalla, Stivovo & Zongie were there looking cute in black.
I've heard people complain about how Stivovo is trying to be black & stuff but I disagree. He is such a breath of fresh air & always makes me laugh with his antics on screen.
Stivovo baby, I like you, keep doing your thing, these black people don't know what they want. They always complain about white people not trying to learn their languages & stuff and when you try and embrace their culture, bathi you are trying to be black? Mmmncim...
Muvhango actor Mutodi Neshehe was there with actress Brenda Ngxoli, who has lost a lot of weight already, thanks to Strictly Come Dancing. Look out for both of them on 31 January on SABC 2.
Brenda was so excited to see me, you could have sworn she's the groupie & I'm the Emmy award nominated actress! You're my hero gal & get a nice outfit for the Awards ceremony coz you're my Star Actress!!!
Arthur Mafokate & David Kau
Someone who wasn't excited to see me is Comedian, David Kau. The last time I checked we were on good terms so I was very surprised when he pointed at me saying "
Wena!!!!"I always get that from people but in this case I hadn't done anything so I asked him what I did and .....
David: If you wanted pictures of my wedding, you could have just asked me.
Me: Huh?
David: That article you wrote about my wedding....
Me: It wasn't me!!!!
Okay, this is happening for the 2nd time now and I wonder just how many other people out there make this mistake. First it was DJ Sbu who "almost" had beef with me over the comment about his late girlfriend, it wasn't me! Now it's David...
C'mon on now people, check the author or blogger's name if it's a comment coz I do not agree with everything written by the readers of the site, just as I'm sure there are things I say/write that TVSA management don't agree with.

Love Kelly's look but I would do it without katiba eo coz I don't like attention. I should have asked her for it when going on the cruise, it wad damn hot on that beach.
I thought Khabo looked nice but my date insisted the shoes were wrong for that outfit so I kept quiet coz I am not a fashionista!
Besides, I've also worn a red dress with black shoes before, so are you supposed to wear shinynyana shoes or does it depend on the dress? School us people.

Nonkululeko Godana is definitely on my Top 20 favourite ladies of Mzansi. She is Content Producer for DJ Sbu's radio show, a Freelance writer and also manages
singers Siphokazi & Camagwini.
She's still a baby but is already doing amazing things with her life. Sbu gave her my number last year and insisted that we meet. We did & yeah, let's just say, it was "wow'.
Now, I need her to please tell Sbu that my clock is ticking

Okay, I can write a long story about all the things that slipped out of his mouth when I was doing all that smiling...LOL but here's a quick list:
- He did steal DJ Cleo's song...(says "

- He is grateful for all the publicity Cleo gave his album
- Honestly thinks it will be hard finding a great wife because he's a single father of two.
- He knows about everything that's been said about him on TVSA
Celebrated DJ Sbu's nomination for Star Radio Show but minutes later stood up and told me "
Let me go find Sbu, I wanna start a fight." (
something along those lines)
I think the best way to deal with Arthur is not to take him seriously people coz even though this whole song thing was hurtful to Cleo, for Arthur it was all just a big laugh!
All that aside, he's a very funny guy, kept us in stiches the whole time!
