Over the past two months
castings have been happening round Africa for the 2008 season of Nokia Face of Africa.
24 finalists are being chosen from 13 countries to go through to the semi-finals: a schmodelling boot camp on the island of Zanzibar coming up in November.
The South African auditions happened this past weekend, on Saturday (4 Oct.) in Jozi's fashion district.
The two hopefuls who've made it through are 18-year old Thulisile Ngwenya ( left ) and 19-year old Sandiso Qongqo:
The final scouting search happens in Angola this Saturday (11 Oct.) before the 24 head off to Zanzibar. The boot camp will narrow things down to 10 finalists who'll compete in the Grand Finale to be held in Sun City on Saturday 29 November.
It'll be broadcast live on M-Net at 20h00.
In the lead-up to the Finale M-Net will broadcast four special episodes focusing on the casting process.
The prize being ramped for: USD 50 000 and a three-year modelling contract with Oluchi Onweagba's modelling agency O-Model Africa. Oluchi won the first year of the competition in 1998.
